Shocking, Sweded can't see the other side of an argument. Although I do disagree with you Tim, because I myself smoke daily, I can understand why you feel the way you do. It's always tough to argue with the law, but I will say that it makes no sense for Weed to be illegal. They could penalize like they do for alcohol and everything would work pretty well. Public consumption, DUI, and possession under the age of 21 or something.

FWIW, I didn't disagree with you here. However, I feel that the lagalization of marijuana is a "when" not "if" question. So what if someone gets banned from the NFL for pot use then is becomes legal the next year?

You don't have to call anyone dense. We're just having a discussion here. Also, just because someone tests positive for weed, that does not mean they're a "pothead"....as a matter of fact, just because someone smokes daily, that doesn't make them a "pothead" either. Plenty of people smoke daily and still have good jobs and take care of their business.

The fact that weed is illegal is really the only argument for testing for it, IMO. Of course you don't want a player that might get busted for pot and either be suspended or thrown in jail. I'm also a firm believer that athletes should set an example for the kids that look up to them. From a moral standpoint, I don't think it's any worse to see them with a joint than a beer. However, it IS illegal and I don't think kids should be taught to break the law.

I was being mostly sarcastic in my other posts.

Get better parents. An athletes job is to play a sport to the best of their abilities and stay out of trouble. It's not their job to set examples for anyone's kids. They're no better than anyone else in this world, and kids should look up to their parents, not some athlete.

People who smoke cigarettes tend to do more damage to their lungs because they smoke a 1/2 pack, or a pack a day and that is worse than smoking 1 bowl, or so. So in reality smoke Ciggs usually turns out to be worse unless you're smoking weed 10 times a day, and what not.
