If russia continues to win on the battlefield, expect the euro's to offer to drop most sanctions in return for a ceasefire as well as to prevent further russian gains. The discussion for the 6th round of sanctions today made clear that russian gas exports will NOT be part of them. So much for being tough huh?

Putin already said he would let food go thru on the water if the US drops some of the sanctions. The food getting thru by rail by smaller amounts.

The issue is liekly moot since the next target after russia finsshes with the donbass will be odessa, that would mean they control all ports in the new russia.

Even now zelensky and the US/euros could simply negotiate an end to the war. promise to not join nato, not join the EU and make modest concessions that putin will get anyway. No more deaths , no more leveled cities.

What's wrong with that? he's right of course. As we mentioned the other day, it's highly unlikely Putin would try to take over all of ukraine, given that a negotiated solution seems like the only path to peace.

Europe just targeted Russian crude with its toughest sanctions yet, but shippers and refiners are getting the oil to market by obscuring its origins. Some fuels believed to be partially made from Russian crude landed in New York and New Jersey last month.
