2009 College Football Notebook

Re: 2009 College Football Notebook

Bigdaddy, we are about to start a little card game and several of the guys are
wondering about former Arkansas transfer Mitch Mustain at Southern Cal. You
got the handle out there and so what is happening with this kid? So much promise
and seems USC has settled on someone else. Thanks in advance BD.

Fellows, Bigdaddy can be a horsesass like us but he loves college football and
knows more than he get's credit for. We (Muleriders) are going to try to be kinder
and gentler and trust BD will follow suit this season. We need his expertise. Good
information is MONEY friends. We locked on with NOOB last season and made good
money. NOT THE HYPE GUYS THAT WIN. We just try to find the producers and we
do...year after year. No hard feeling but you may need to forgive us on Tuesdays
and Saturday nights. We mean no harm to anyone unless you are a BS con-artist
that takes advantage of young guys. Won't stand for it....even if it means sandbox.

No worries Clover. This is not the CM where you are constantly put on the defensive by people who are nothing but liars. In all the years I was there, only one person actually called me on a wager. He lost, but was man enough to admit it. I let himoff the hook because he really would have been hurt fianacially by paying me off. I do not forsee that problem in here. By the way guys, in case you know anyone who floats into the CM forum, one of their regulars has set up an alleged book. He goes by the Judge. Be very careful of this clown and this book. I can honestly tell you that CM and this book are being looked into rather carefully now.

Looking forward to the coming season. There are 120 different schools out there with 120 different stories. It should be great.

Now this is fucking priceless you gutless wonder. Would you care to share with the forum just how BetFirstClass is "being looked into very carefully now"? Your retired flatfoot routine has grown beyond old and now you have slipped so far as to run over here like a coward to throw your insults with a belief that they would not be seen.

BDQH, I honestly would have thought that you had bigger balls than this but obviously I have given you too much credit in the past, although even that has not been much. I swear, it is the same old tired yet incessant fountain of feces flowing from your mouth and I for one, find it pathetic. Grow a sack old man, you have reached a new low and that is something for you to finally be proud of.

Big, consider this a warning in regards to this thread. We do not tolerate speaking badly of our sponsors who we think highly of. Thanks and have a nice night.

Re: 2009 College Football Notebook

All I will say to you Judge is this. How good is your memory? Remember when big mouths like yourself and Jack told me that I was crazy and the Feds would never kick off shore casino's out of this country? Remember that Judge? And waht happened? They got their asses kicked out of this country. Do you want to be next? That can easily be arranged. So why don't you drop it. You and your little friends have fun playing big bookie. When my friends and I want to put you out of business, we will, and their is not a single thing you can do about it. If you do not know this by now, you are as ignorat as I thought you were. All it takes is one complaint.

LOL BD, now you threatened me but fail to address the blatant cowardice that you have displayed by posting this when you thought you were safe. You my old friend, are nothing more than an insignificant internet bully wannabe. How about you tell the boys here at EOG how you were nearly killed in the North Hollywood Shootout just prior to landing that gig as the head muscle at Caesars? .. ;)

Your game is weak Old Codger.

Re: 2009 College Football Notebook

Judge, this is the end of the line. I will not comment any further on anything you post regarding this subject. Stop wasting your time and mine. Go back to where you belong. As usual, you blow everything I said out of porportion. I never said that I got a job as the head muscle at Caesars Palace. I said that I helped them with a security issue. I never said that I was nearly killed in the North Hollywood shootout. I simply said that I was there when it went down.

Now if you have anything else to say to me (which would be very stupid on your part) you may send your comments in a PM. This is not the place for you to cry about your hurt feelings. Heed Clover's request and stay out of here, unless you want to talk football, which is something you know little of. I have told Blondie that this issue is closed, as far as I am concerned. Now I have told you.

Re: 2009 College Football Notebook

Now, getting back to football, It appears that Texas Tech has lost their punter for the first 6 gamesof the season. This is no big deal, because he was not any good to begin with. What Tech needs is a quality FG kicker.

Over at USC, the word is that Matt Basrkley may be a lot closer to being the starting QB than people think. He is drawing rave reviews from the assistant coaches. Aparently, the only thing that is stopping him is his knowledge of the playbook, and that is improving on a daily basis. While Corpstill has the #1 spot, Barkley is gaining fast. This means that Mustain is hopelessly in the #3 spot unless something drastic happens. Assistant Coaches marvel at the way Barkley can find his targets no matter what the situation is.

BD, yeah...long happy hour before we kick off. Several of us played golf today and

I'm not very good but usually can shoot 87-92. Got my clocked cleaned today but

Jesus, the NBA would take second seat to the trash talking with us old farts.

Re: 2009 College Football Notebook

You shoot a better round than I do Clover. I used to be around a 14, but now, I am lucky to break 100. CM is a lost cause. They have been steadily sinking for the past three years. They got killed when a couple of their major sponsors got nailed by the Feds and now can no longer do business in this country. Caca happens. It is the nature of the business. This is why myself and others are all over Washington to pass legislation legalizing computerized wagering in the U.S. The government can make lots of tax dollars, and we can force the off shore people out of the country. That is our goal. Life is very tough for people who try to run forums like this one. Basically, there are just not that many sponsors to go around, and their money is growing short. They have to depend on gimicks, like 105 vig, free wagering days, and other things to survive, and that eats into their profit margins. I do the vast majority of my wagering in Vegas, where it is safe, guaranteed, and you get immediate payoffs. There are never any questions when you do business in Vegas. You also get first shot at the lines. I have not seen any offshore book offer college "games of the year" yet. I regress. Back to football.

When I last spoke to my friends in Vegas (last night) they were suprised at the amount of action going down in the Illinois-Missouri game and the lack of action on the Gerogia-Okie State and 'Bama-Va. Tech games. Their current thinking is that a lot of money is going to go down very early, and very late on competitive games, and the action in between will be very slow. They expect major line swings much later in the wagering cycle than normal this year, as money is tight and everyone waits until the last minute to wager money they really can not afford to wager. I guess that makes sense, especially in this economy, which is allegedly getting better even though more and more people are out of work, and even Obama's mouth pieces admit that this will continue for some time to come. So we will be looking to find bad lines early, and by early, we mean Sunday afternoon (Pacific time). That is when the lines for the following weeks games come out.

Re: 2009 College Football Notebook

Now, getting back to football without any further interruptions from the CM crowd, I am amazed at the difference between the "games of the year" pointspreads at Sportsbook.com vs Vegas. In two games involving UNC, they are dogs at one and favorites at the other. 4 or 5 point differences are rather common. This just stresses the importance of being able to get down at as many different places as possible, especially this year, when the books are going to get hit hard by the economic slump, and will not be able to sell off a lot their wagers, like they could do in the past.

I am looking for bigger differences in the books, especially the offshore books which do not handle a lot of action and are more suseptable to large wagers. Remember, the newer and smaller the book, the tougher it is for them to sell a wager to another book. The larger books, or books that are owned by the same group (the Greek and Bet Jam for example) have a lot more to fall back on. If you just play offshore books, I suggest sticking to your current books and keeping away from new ones, especially if you have had no problems with your book. If you want to diversify, opt for books with solid reputations and financial backgrounds. Also remember this. Books are in business to make money. If they have to start giving the house away by giving away freebies, they are probably not on very solid financial legs. No one is going to give you a free vig day unless they are desperate for action. The smaller the book, the bigger the risk of you losing your investment dollars. Make sure that your book is on solid footing. Do not ask your book for this information. No book is going to admit that they are hurting. Get your information from independent sources, and use more than one.

SEC KEY GAMES
(Subject to opinion and welcome yours)

WEST
Alabama: October 10 at Ole Miss is the trendy pick as the defacto SEC West title game.
Arkansas: October 10 vs Auburn could be a battle for the fourth spot in the SEC West
and could be the deciding game for bowl eligibility for both.
Auburn: November 27 vs Alabama will give Chizik an opportunity to beat Saban on the
field before signing day.
LSU: November 7 at Alabama is not just a rivalry game, but it will play a big part in
deciding the West's representative in the SEC Championship Game.
Mississippi State: November 28 vs Ole Miss will be played one day after the Iron Bowl.
Mullen and Chizik will have the same goal on that Thanksgiving weekend, surprise
your instate rival.
Ole Miss: September 24 at South Carolina will be the first real game for the Rebels after
opening with Memphis and Southeast Louisiana.

EAST
Florida: October 10 at LSU will give the Gators its only look at one of the top three
teams from the West Division.
Georgia: October 31 vs Florida is just that "big one" this year as it is most seasons.
Kentucky: November 28 vs Tennessee will give the Cats a shot at taking down the Vols
for the first time in 25 seasons when they close the regular season at home.
South Carolina: September 3 at North Carolina State doesn't give the Gamecocks much
of an opportunity to ease into the season with a non-conference patsy.
Tennessee: September 19 at Florida will easily be the most hostile environment any
visiting team will face all season considering Kiffin's pop offs toward Gators.
Vanderbilt: September 19 vs Mississippi State will give Bobby Johnson's team a shot
at avenging last season's 17-14 loss that ended the five game winning streak that
began the season.

Re: 2009 College Football Notebook

I don't see Auburn going bowling. I think they will be very lucky to win 6 games. They lose all 4 of their away games plus games at home to West Virginia, Mississippi, and Alabama. I also think that there is money to be made fading Mississippi, especially against Alabama. I am also keeping an eye on the line in their opener, against Memphis, a team that gives them all kinds of trouble at home. I don't think that Mississippi loses this game, but right now the line is Miss. -17, and Ole Miss has not come close to covering a line like that in Memphis, even in the Eli days.

hell yes...but come back like a brother and get on with business.

I'll start...sometime back (we) expressed disappointment in BigOrange. Hell, BO is

will have at least three good one's this season. BO, you owe me bud.

She offers a warning to all posters and should adhere to.

I and my gang have a different take for EOG to separate itself and be a

Change is needed at EOG for New Blood. New kids searching for a home with
sports they enjoy and trust is the answer. Not washed up BS artist who sing
the same tune and who could be positive but won't because they don't have to.
Make them, We and others 'HAVE TO' and they (we) will.

EOG can be a leader, can be great...show the hunger from new guys we have
a place for them. We will listen, help and assist when possible. Offer them fun and
not putdown. Give them the opportunity to express themselves where they are
not afraid to post...and not get hammered and demeaned.

EOG, fuck the old guys....the good ones will follow. WELCOME and help the new

Re: 2009 College Football Notebook

Guys, let me piggy back on what Clover and the Mules are saying. There is plenty of opportunity to get new members out there. What these members are looking for is good solid football information, and not just homer talk. They can get that at any number of sites. They are also loking for something other than "Take Team A. Can't miss." They basically could care less about GOY's GOM's GO anythings, etc... What they want to know is why you are taking "team A" over "team B". This is what the people who read these forums want to know,or at least this is what they tell me.

With the decline of several forums out there, now is the chance to grab some of these displeased football lovers. That is how I came to join this forum (for better or for worse, as Blondie is probably thinking now). So let's keep the football talk at a maximum, and the homer stuff to a minimum. Have a great season.

Clover, your description of your organization reminds me of mine. One guy is the boss. One guy is the muscle. But I am Italian and I regress.

Re: 2009 College Football Notebook

We need a Notre Dame take. The Irish are certainly one of the more interesting teams this year, with predictions ranging from 8 wins to 11. Speaking of which, Notre Dame -2 1/2 at Michigan is certainly a line worth looking at. Michigan is so helpless on offense that they brought in a former Duke Hoops star to audition at QB. I think that Charlie knows that a loss to Michigan would probably translate into a poor season and the loss of his job.
