His pressure is greatly reduced by what he said above...he still has a business to bail him out.
If you are going to be doing it full time I wouldn't bother with posting picks. Maybe a few here and there, but you will be more busy watching and waiting.
You also never want to post a pick you have not played. Sounds crazy, but good practice. If you want it to move your way, or are looking for something in particular, even having a few guys bet it can hurt.
Bascically it looks like you want to "retire" from your business, keep it around as insurance and try gambling because it is mre exciting.
Thats another thing, if you are trying to make money at it, it is far from exciting, and pretty much the most boring thing going.
Keeping the emotions, and gambling out ofgambling are the most important things. Handicapping and money management are overrated. Any clown can make money if he can do math and know what he has to bet at -105 and +110 to profit both ways. That involves no handicapping, no gambling, no money management, and very little emotion (except the joy you get finding it) But is far more profittable and will get you a lot further than anything else in this business will get you.
