Last week's edition of "Winning Wednesdays" fell victim to technical difficulties. Join us this week at our new Internet home (www.vegasallnetradio.com). John Netto has been added to this week's lineup.

Join hosts John Kelly and Barry Holthaus for one hour of sports talk from a gambling perspective. This week's guest is longtime Las Vegas bookmaker Jimmy Vaccaro, current oddsmaker at Lucky's. Vaccaro will discuss the state of Nevada's race and sports book industry, the recent 60 Minutes' interview with Billy Walters and the latest numbers for Super Bowl XLV between Green Bay and Pittsburgh.

"Winning Wednesdays" is EOG's Internet radio show dedicated to the survival of sports bettors everywhere. The program airs every Wednesday at noon Pacific time. The show can be heard live or archived at www.vegasallnetradio.com.

Some of the best radio shows ever were when Jimmy and JK had a 5 day a week, one hour radio show sponsored by Leroys.
Some of the stuff they dreamed up was classic.
And, the off the cuff remarks were legendary.

God, I miss that show.

My favorite line on the Leroy's Sports Hour came when a female employee at John Ascuaga's Nugget was asked, "During a massage, which part of your body do you most like massaged?"

Her response: my tonsils.

first rip off tout i ever had @ 7 years ago. not sure how they found me, but, someone from his office called me,
stupid me got roped in, and i immediately lost 30,000. his group couldn't give out a winner if they had
tomorrow's newspaper. top it off, he was always unavailable to speak with; always had to go through
one of his touts. that movie with al pacino awhile ago---exactly hoe vacarro's office worked--i swear
on my kid's lives. he sucks!!!!!! fuck him!!!!!!!!!

If it is a tell all, ask him if Jimmy Allure opened his numbers when he was in charge of the Mirage....also ask him about his employee "Shep" who passed away last year..I'm sure nothing but good things will be said about Shep....

I had a brief encounter with Jimmy V about 30 years ago when he was running the Golden Nugget sportsbook...

Me and my cousin had just flown up from LA and were at the Nugget. It was a busy football Saturday about 9 am. I had just bet $330 ea on about 7 or 8 games. The room was crowded and I was standing around when the early games were starting.... Suddenly I notice Jimmy V had come out from behind the counter and was standing next to me.. real close. He nudges me on the elbow and says something like "You better go see the gal who just took your bets. She's got something to tell you"... I'm thinking "Oh shit what happened?".. Well I go to the counter and she gives me a $100 bill. She tells me her drawer was over by $100 so I must have given her an extra $100 and so she was returning it... I couldn't believe it.

I'm sure Jimmy V doesn't remember this but I will never forget it. It just amazed me what a stand up guy he is and what a class operation he runs.

I remember Jimmy use to waddle up and down the court at the Sporting house in Vegas playing pickup basketball games. Does he still play pick up basketball games these days?

I think he was head guy at the Barbary Coast book. Always talking with the gamblers. I also met Tony Salinas in the BC. Used to love that place----first casino with a sportsbook.

because of his name recognition i thought i was entering a good relationship.
boy was i taken for a ride.
i wish i could remember the two guys' names who i spoke with who represented
him and his tout service. this guy i could believe would give out different
sides to different customers.
