FTR you're a good poster Kane, always thought so, one of my favorites in fact. Like me you have a lot of opinions and you defend them assertively.

I like that, on a place designed to hear from all sorts of posters on all sorts of things you want to hear all sides.

Other than Brick and politics we agree on quite a bit actually.

Reading my last post, I sound like kind of a dick, I get a little wound up at times when exchanging ideas.

Good luck this weekend.

It's hard to tell what's up. If anything. For the sake of legalized sports betting I hope it's not a Toledo football (mob) or ASU baskets (students) situation.

Thomas Gable @Borgata:

Most sportsbooks opened this game with UAB as a 2 or 2 ½-point favorite and that was the overnight line for Wednesday night into Thursday. It pretty much stayed at that number through the morning. We took some limit bets at 2.5 probably around noon, moved it a point and took some more limit bets.

At around 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time, that’s when we really saw this game steam on the odds screen. It got to a point where we took it off the board here probably about 15 minutes later, around 1:45. It got to 8 in a very short amount of time.

On March 7th for an American Athletic Conference game, there is not going to be a line movement of six points unless there’s some major injury news or some news about players being ruled ineligible, sickness, whatever.

When I started seeing this game really get steamed, I started looking into what we could find on Temple and UAB. There was nothing out there. There was nothing as far as injury news on Temple, nothing as far as a UAB adding anybody. There was nothing. So extremely, extremely odd line movement.

I’m sure with the way this story is blowing up in the media, there probably will be an investigation. You don’t want to say anything nefarious is happening, but when you see wagers coming in that don’t make
any sense, you have to report these.

If you look at previous Temple games, you are seeing big moves, whether it’s first halves or totals. But when you see full-game spreads move that much, people are going to stand up and take notice. You may be able to get some first-half bets in, but when you are trying to get down big amounts for a full game . . . it’s going to stand out.

Those are the things that are going to tip off sportsbooks. You are going to report it and let the agencies who handle these things look into it.

When there isn’t buyback from respected play, that’s also a sign. Sharp players are going to look at that and if they are staying away, they know something doesn’t look right to them. That’s what happened here. You didn’t see much buyback on Temple at 8. That is a pretty telling sign.

Asked how Gable will handle Temple’s next game, Sunday vs. UTSA, he replied: “Low limits.”

Not about the last word, just a discussion in my world. I don't disagree with posters, just posts. Respond to topics and ideas, not people.

With a long history of playing sports, professional level writing skills, underrated smarts and a penchant at seeing through bullshit these talks are always a walk in the park for me.

I leave emotions out of it, probably why I don't get ran off sites when exchanging opinions with others. It's not the end of the world to disagree.

But frankly other than your sustained and demonstrative "FSU should be playing for a natty" display this is one of your worst ideas in a while.

Someone at US Integrity must be laughing their assess off at the people taking the bait, LOL.

Okay, surrender noted, we move on.
"laughing their assess off".....so much for your professional writing skills..... lol.

It was an ASU situation, sans the NCAA rep that went into the ASU locker room and told them basically they better cover and they did the dog money went up in smoke.

I saw the highlights/lowlights of the game. Owls definitely mailed it in on defense.

2-3 drives to the basket, open sesame, no help, just watching. It looked like a bunch of 50 year old guys at the 'Y'...

Temple is actually a play today. It's similar to a restaurant with health violations. You know next time you go in everything is spotless.

I'm not touching the game, but I was just thinking the exact same thing, with the spotlight on them today, I expect an all out effort, doesn't mean they cover, but I doubt you see them lay down again

It was sarcasm, genius. Even still in your effort to be cute you missed badly.........

Big difference between a writer and a spelling Bee champ. Jaysus.

Professionals aren't worried about spelling every world correctly or a mistype, they aren't paid for that, dumbfuck.

Are you in the 2nd grade with that take?

That's like saying "he claims to be an astronaut but he just got blown up playing asteroids!"

121 points allowed in the 2 American conf tourney games. Apparently they can play D after all....who knew, he asked sarcastically?

Temple train keeps on rolling. 6 pt dog wins 58-54 vs Charlotte. That’s just 175 points allowed in last 3 games.

The fact that they've played as well as they have since that UAB game makes that game all the more suspicious, had they continued playing as bad and with no effort it would be easy to say they're just a bad team that doesn't compete, but when you look at the box score of that game compared to their recent efforts, the UAB game really stands out as funny looking, not saying their was any shenanigans in that game, but it definitely makes you wonder

Absolutely. US Integrity may have not been so crazy after all.

The UAB was definitely manipulated. The highlights looked like a bullfight there was so much Matador defense.

Defense is effort. Why throwing a game on the defensive end is dumb. A missed shot is a missed shot.

It happened in the Tulsa game also a few days earlier. I agree100% with your post.

Temple will play UAB in the American title game tomorrow, you can't make this stuff up.
But if Temple gets run out by UAB, does it (possibly) legitimize the earlier loss? They can just say “we don’t match up well with UAB. Nothing to see here and move along”.

A loss would also take them out of the spot light of being in the tournament

Amazing to have three stories like Temple, Long Beach, and NC State now. LB fired the coach, but let him finish the tourney - and they won it. Basically the same for NC St, now that coach gets a 2 year extension.

Without the 5.5 pt line move that would be irrelevant, there is also more than just the UAB game that was the most glaring though.

This will be Temple's 5th game in 5 days, now I remember when I was 20 I played ball all day every day, but at some point you would think fatigue will eventually play a factor, I think a bad loss today could be chalked up to the schedule, 5 in 5 is certainly a valid reason if they play poorly

Exactly, it wasn't just that they didn't compete in the game, it's the giant line move that you never see in March that made the game look funny, had the line not moved that much no one would have thought twice about the result, just a bad game and you move on, but a line move like that combined with how the game played out, that's what makes you think

I think I saw 100/1 on NCST to win conf tourney.
