Heat’s Jimmy Butler makes two decisions on his future. Where things stand

Jimmy Butler, at least for now, has made a decision about his future in the wake of the Heat’s hesitance, so far, to commit to the contract extension he has been seeking. Butler has decided he won’t ask for a trade, a source with direct knowledge said this week. Meanwhile, The Athletic reported that the Heat has not shopped him in a trade.

Jimmy found out before game 7 in Boston his father's illness was terminal, this was two years ago when the Heat won the first three games of the series, then lost the next three, his agent didn't know if he should tell him the news before or after the game, he decided to tell him before, so with that on his mind he finished the game with 28 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals leading the Heat to a win and clinching the Eastern Conference Finals MVP

I don't see any reason this season will be different. Waiting for 1st major injury. Had Jimmy not gotten hurt in the play in, they maybe would have played the Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals. We will never know but Jimmy going down and losing the game was the end before the beginning.

Uneven start to the season. If they stay houthis healthy, should win 50. Their core have been playing together a long time. Nobody touching the Celtics unless they touch themselves. They are even bettor you bet than last season.

And there is no trade addition possibility to fix it. Rozier was supposed to be that and he's not. I lightly follow. 2-2 with 2 bad losses. This was the easy stretch. Now it gets tough.

Which is why they're not winning 50 games, I appreciate the confidence you have in them, but they're not Bos, NY, Phi, Cle, or Ind, they're also likely behind Mil and Orl, the best case is they get the 6th seed, the 6th seed in the East isn't winning 50, not even close, more than likely they're the 8th seed. Playing hard, defending, and being well coached, will only get you so far, it's a talent league, and the Heat just can't match up with other teams talent wise, the things they do well, and the style they play, are better suited of the league 10 years ago, their style of play just isn't made for today's NBA, the Pacers beat Boston tonight while allowing 132 points, last year's Pacers team reached the ECF's despite not playing a lick of defense, that's the style in today's NBA, the Heat haven't been able to adapt to the changing times, now all that said, they'll still be the team none of the big boys will want to see in the playoffs, but they just don't have enough firepower to compete for a Chip

A third executive for an Eastern Conference team said they have heard Antetokounmpo's preferred trade destinations would be the Miami Heat or the Brooklyn Nets, per Reiter.

I have no idea how the Heat would even be able to pull this off, and that's assuming the rumors are true, but if things go South this year for the Bucks, it might be worth following

This is a lineup that could go all the way. Maybe Milwaukee will accept 1st round picks and it will be a 3 team trade so another team will give up current talent.

It's hard for me to see a path to make this happen, first off the Bucks can trade him anywhere they want, which mean they would of course rather ship him out West, second, the Heat don't have the assets needed to pull this off, your potential SL would be a championship contender, but remember the salaries would have to match, there would be tremendous fan backlash if they move him, but Herro is from Wisconsin, so maybe they can sell that, the Heat could offer Herro, JJJ, Jovic, and would also have to include Duncan because of his salary, but they Heat don't have enough picks to satisfy the Bucks, the Nets don't have enough talent to make a deal, of course I would love to land the Freak, but it will take something I can't see to get it done, likely a third team would have to get involved, I doubt he gets moved, but the team I would look at is OKC, they have a lot of young talent and a fuck load of picks, they could offer a package of young players along with 4 or 5 picks, if the Irish Godfather somehow pulls this off, then as you say "crown his fucking ass"

Wet dream is adding the Greek God and keeping Herro shot, Bam Bam and Jimmy. Realistic dream is giving up 1. Will not be Bam Bam.

Give up Herro to win it this year. Give up Jimmy to win it next year. That is like going for 1 and OT or 2 and W.
