Being cut by the Falcons: Price-less
Flowery Branch, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Falcons reportedly cut wide receiver Peerless Price on Tuesday.
According to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, Price received the news prior to morning practice. The paper went on to say that Price sped off in his car, but not before saying to an AJC photographer, "I hate ya'll."
The University of Tennessee product failed to live up to expectations in Atlanta. After putting up career-bests of 1,252 yards and nine touchdowns on 94 catches with the Bills in 2002, he was traded to the Falcons and received a $10 million signing bonus as part of a $37 million contract.
Last season, Price had 45 catches for 575 yards and three touchdowns. During his two-year stint with the club, he totaled only 1,413 yards and six scores on 109 catches. In his six-year career, Price has tallied 4,715 yards and 28 touchdowns on 341 catches in 96 games.
