Move prompted by the mounting economic war with Russia marks the first departure from a two-decade policy to abandon nuclear energy

Of course, a Senator always has a complete conflict of interest with their spouse.

Who wouldn't love it if their spouse was defending the most notorious criminal from the other side?

Happens all the time to people who are "as conservative as they come"! LMAO.

They did that here in Mn - during the pandemic they moved the homeless into a very nice hotel in mpls, they completely trashed it in a couple months. Shitting and pissing in the hallways and rooms, starting fires, the works.

Russian forces seized Crimea from Ukraine in 2014 with barely a fight, and Vladimir Putin said it would belong to Moscow forever.

Eight years later, blasts at a Russian air base and ammunition depot there—the result of Ukrainian attacks, according to senior officials in Kyiv —have exposed Moscow’s vulnerability and made the peninsula the latest battleground in the continuing war between the neighbors.

Ukraine’s immediate goal isn’t to retake Crimea, but degrade Russia’s ability to wage war in the south and east, where Kyiv is seeking to regain territory captured by Moscow’s armies. Crimea is home to large Russian bases and plays a critical role in supplying forces elsewhere.

For two months, Kyiv has used long-range rocket launchers furnished by the U.S. to hit targets in Russian-held territory on the Ukrainian mainland. The Crimea strikes demonstrate Ukraine’s ability to hit deep into Russian areas that are beyond the range of those U.S. weapons.

  • A reported video of LNR servicemen refusing to fight in Donetsk Oblast suggests further division among Russian-led forces.
  • Russian forces attempted several limited ground assaults northwest of Slovyansk.
  • Russian forces conducted multiple offensive operations east and southeast of Siversk and northeast and southeast of Bakhmut.
  • Russian forces continued conducting offensive operations northwest, west, and southwest of Donetsk City.
  • Russian forces conducted a limited ground assault north of Kharkiv City.
  • Russian and Ukrainian forces continued to trade accusations of shelling the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant.
  • St. Petersburg authorities officially denied summoning local men to military recruitment and enlistment centers for discussions of contract service.
  • Russian occupation authorities continued preparations for the integration of occupied territories of Ukraine into Russia.

Russia has an expo going on in moscow where they're displaying what appears to be virtually brand new US weapons. These were game changers.

“They need conflicts to retain their hegemony,” Putin charged. “That’s why they have turned the Ukrainian people into cannon fodder. The situation in Ukraine shows that the United States is trying to drag the conflict out, and it acts in exactly the same way trying to fuel conflicts in Asia, Africa and Latin America.”

None of the recent strikes were from long range rockets. Today's was once again saboteurs. i give them credit, but compared to what russia is doing to them daily it's almost meaningless.

I did read that russia has fully activated their arms production industry and is making weapons hand over fist. meanwhile we reported that it'll take 5 years to replace the javelins and stingers we've already given away.

WASHINGTON, May 8 (Reuters) - Weapons maker Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N) plans to nearly double production of Javelin missiles, the antitank weapon that has helped Ukraine fight Russia's invasion, Chief Executive Officer James Taiclet said in an interview on Sunday.

The aim is to boost output to 4,000 per year from 2,100 per year currently, Taiclet said in an interview with CBS News. The increase will take as long as a couple of years, he said.

Apparently we dont make any stingers, LOL.

Whoops, the U.S. Sent So Many Missiles to Ukraine That It Depleted Its Own Stockpiles

Some, like the Stinger missile, have been out of production for years with no easy path toward replenishment.

Is Ukraine striking deeper behind Russia's lines?

Posted August 17, 2022

Ukraine's government is hinting at involvement at an explosion in Crimea. If true, it could show Ukraine has new capability to strike deeper into Russian-annexed territory, potentially changing the dynamic of the six-month-old war. Trevor Koroll reports.

Very possible, of course russia has never attempted to target Zelensky or other decision making centers. keep that in mind.

This reminds me of the 2nd gulf war, where on 2nd or 3rd day iraq ambushed some marine column , shot up some vehicles, etc. the media acted like "oh no several military vehicles have been destroyed" Then the truth was revealed that the 3rd marine division(which is completely mechanized) had something like 7000 vehicles of varying styles.(tanks, humvees, apc's, artillery, ammo, trucks, fuel trucks, medical, etc)

Imagine paying $4/kwh?

⚡️🇱🇹〽️ The Lithuanian portal LRT reports that more production facilities in the country will have to shut down on Wednesday evening due to exorbitant electricity prices, which will reach 4 euros per kilowatt hour.
Only the continuous cycle plants will not be shut down, but they will only have to maintain the technological process.

There are two interesting aspects to this news. The first one is that there are still some production facilities in Lithuania, and the second one - well, guys, it's their own fault. What we fought for, we got what we got. The fierce Russophobia necessarily responds with huge financial expenses. When will you finally understand this?
