Except if you submit to a lie detector test. Then you get exposed. In the past sports betting action earned the same as table games. I could not use all of the comps I earned. In fact, I could not use all of the comps at one club I was betting at. Best suite for weekend, best restaurant every night, gym for whirlpool, sauna and massage. I would never settle at the front desk, before making sure you know where you stand. There are ways to get the computer tracking in your favor. Right up front before you make one bet make sure you give the pit boss your card, ask to be tracked, and if it is a place you have never been before, try to get a casino host assigned to you first. If you are good at working people, the computer tracking is just a rough guideline. Next, when handing pit boss your card for tracking, shmoosh him. Get his name, address him by it, and when he looks at your first action, those bets should be bigger than normal. When he punches you in, and goes about his business, drop down to normal level of play. Also, stash chips. Never big chips, 5$ and 25$. When you cashout those are losses. Also, do not tip during play but after, when cashing out. If you did well, let the pit boss see you tip the boys on the rail, or the dealer. If not, sorry I would tip but I got crushed. If you made a good impression, they will round up for you, and give you more playing time. Also, do not play until they enter you. I have seen pit bosses distracted, change ten thousand, and off they go, forgetting to get you started. Not good. Then after a few sessions, visit your host, ask for current status, often if you have good rapport they will let you look over play entered. Then you can see who helped you and who did not as far as pit bosses.
Before checking out visit the casino host one more time. Try for a vip host. Great trip, can't wait to come back, blah, blah, blah. I was in so and so suite, charged this much to room. What are we looking at? If you are close to having entire bill covered by comps, they will usually kick it up to everything is on us. They want you to leave with a smile, so they get you again. Walkup to front desk, it is all taken care of Mr. FROG, thanks for staying. If you do not work it up front, you are at the mercy of what they want to give you, after you have left. You lost all of the clout you had. There are a few books written on comps, and a very misunderstood and under used gimme. Also, there are other ways, even less scrupulous than pocketing chips, and showing higher spreads. Maybe you are too honest for those.
