Bronny

Bronny had the worst +/- number of all players in preseason (-42), then again his expectations are a lot lower than the #2 pick in the draft Sarr who was right behind Bronny.

I've seen all of Bronny's highlights in preseason, he's not even close ready to contribute. Specifically, he can't shoot. Open looks.

Bronny will start the season on the roster, they'll allow him and Lebron to play together to make history, then at some point he'll be sent to the G league, can't imagine he spends the entire season on the active roster, he needs playing time to improve his game, the amount of PT he needs won't come at the pro level

He will never reach NBA ability. He's maxed his potential and he has none. He can't even shoot. That is checkmark #1.

You can't know that, let's see if he develops, time will tell, give the kid a chance

I can list off a whole lot of NBA players who came into the league not being able to shoot, but ended up being adequate

If Bronny's last name wasn't James, I think you would be more willing to give him a chance

Lu Dort of OKC came into the league with a reputation of being a good defender who couldn't shoot, his rookie year he shot .297 from three, last year he shot .394

Jalen Smith spent his first two seasons in Phoenix, he shot .232 from three, he then signed with Indiana, in three seasons there he's shot .349 from three

There are many players who have improved their outside shot, I'm not saying Bronny will be one of them, but let's be fair and give the kid a chance before deciding what type of player he is, the kid is 20 years old, most kids his age are Sophomores in college, is he NBA ready right now? No fucking way, will he develop into an NBA player? Maybe, maybe not, but it's hard to look at a 20 year old and say definitively he'll never be an NBA player, let him develop in the G League and let's see where his game is in 2-3 years

If I was a betting man and had to wager whether Bronny ends up a serviceable NBA player or not, I would bet not, and I base that on his size, there aren't many two guards as small as he is, it's possible at some point he'll have to learn to play the one to even think about an NBA career

He should have went to a mid major and played 4 seasons. This is not about development of his game.
Agree, but if he stayed in college another two years LeBron might not have been around, the only way to guarantee they play together was for him to come out early, that was important enough to him to leave school early, even thought from a basketball perspective it wasn't the smart thing

If Bronny's last name wasn't James, he isn't getting a look - or that contract.

If Bronny's last name wasn't James, people wouldn't be shitting on him and would give a 20 year old kid a chance to have a career before rushing to judgement

Do you hear yourself? Any 20 year old will his skill level could never have this chance if it wasn't for nepotism. He is not good. You're smart but on the defensive because somehow "Bronny"is the liberal side in this discussion, you need to stop making everything political.

I'm not making anything political, I agree if he wasn't Lebron's kid the Lakers wouldn't have drafted him, but if he wasn't LeBron's kid everyone here wouldn't be hating on him, both things could be true, the LeBron haters are now directing their hatred of him toward his kid, which is weird to me

kane

EOG master
Do you think that he showed enough at USC last year to warrant being drafted?
No I don't, but let's say it wasn't LeBron and his son, let's say it was Jordan and his son, do you think everyone here would be hating on him, or do you think guys would be more likely to give the kid a chance, all the Jordan fans would be loving the opportunity to see him get to play with his son, but it's LeBron, so they project their hatred of him onto his kid, the only reason he's a Laker right now is LeBron's his dad, after they get to play together and make history, he'll be eventually sent to the G league which is where he belongs

I can only think of one guard. Eric Snow. And he was an elite defender.
FW posted about Lonzo Ball in another thread, which got me thinking, he's another guy who came into the league and couldn't shoot, in his first two seasons in LA he shot .315 from three, in his next two seasons in NO he shot .376, and in half a season in Chicago before getting injured he shot .423, yet another example of a young player improving his outside shot

If it were Jordan, the blowback wouldn’t be as much at the beginning for one big reason, he’s not running the team. MJ tried than in Chicago and Krause wasn’t having it. I think that was the biggest reason those two had a cool relationship. Players like LeBron and ARod basically running teams will get a lot of scrutiny and it rarely ends well.

Oh wow...you are deranged. Just stop at if it weren't Lebron's son the Lakers wouldn't have drafted him. End of debate.

It's a free market. Lebron is not forcing the Fakers to play Bronny. In the end, everybody will get what they deserve.

Where I disagree with kane is pretending he has a chance to become NBA quality. No indication whatsoever he will ever improve his game to even earn a final rooster seat on the bench. He will be gone when Lebron is gone.

I'm surprised the Griffey's are at the game tonight to commemorate LeBron and son hitting the court.

NBA still trying to legitimize this side show. 😌

Embarrassing.

Almost Allright

GO Bucks!!!
Ironic the Griffey’s were there in that they were legitimately major league talents. And then on the other side of the coin is the James clown show. Forced, fake, and completely a WWE type event. The only thing true about the James’ side of this is the representation of how soft and fake a society we have become when it comes to actually earning achievements.

JJ Redick likes his defense. I think he's valuable guarding a smallish pg. Nonetheless, he's going down to G league after
this road trip.

jj is a moron

I wasn't crazy about the hire either, But he's coaching his ass off in the huddles, practicing with the
team. It's a totally different atmosphere than with Ham who was changing lineups daily making
players question his moves.
