Look at this F'n pussy. nothing wrong with the knee but he wont play until it's not uncomfortable.
His one appearance for 2 innings included a strikeout(so no running) and I believe he made 1 play in the field, so he might have run once.
This is what he said in june - his knee is "kinda" achy and sore - poor baby.

Yeah that kind of surprises me, a division rival and all.
Frankly I don't think Eflin scares them much though at this point.
Rays came out with interesting quote - We can't let NOW beat us later.

Eflin and Aroz were 2 of the most expensive contracts in the organization, that's why they're gone.
i noticed eflin stats.. meh player... yep it was about money and just about always is with TB.. they do the best without $$$

The Halos look like they got fleeced for their closet Estevez... received two decent pitching prospects from Philly, however doubt he would resign with Halos as a FA after the season. No way Moreno is paying 15m plus a year for a closer.

Yeah, without looking I'm sure if you put salaries against wins the Rays are near the top.
Or the bottom, depending on perspective. As a fan hard not to think if they just spent a little more.
Of course if they did have an open purse I'm sure they'd be nowhere close as efficient.
Cubs trade Morel and a minor leaguer or two to Tampa for Paredes. Interesting trade. Right now, Paredes clearly an upgrade. Similar power but much less strikeouts and better defensively. But Morel also hasn't hit in great luck this year. His K rate actually below 25% (that's an accomplishment for him) and he has vicious bat speed. But he also was a guy who really didn't have a position. Was surprised to see him regress this year. But Tampa is an organization that might be able to get him right.

Staff holds Reds to 3 runs combined in the 3 games for a 2-1 series win.

BTW they never swept anyone in the 9 wins, LOL, lot of 2-1 squeakers.

Whenever the Rays make a trade, it doesn't matter who they gave up, or what they got back, I just assume they got the better end of the deal, it's amazing how that franchise competes every year with one of the lowest payrolls in the league. If I were a GM of a team I would call the Rays front office and ask about a certain player, I would find out what prospects they would want back in a hypothetical trade, I would then hang up and make those prospects untouchable in any trades going forward

Again, 2-1 series win, this time in Houston against the CheatO's.
Rays staff holds Houston to 4 runs total in the 3 games. Going to win a lot of series when your staff can do that.

I have more faith in the Phillies turning it around than the Braves, this year's Braves team just isn't that good, we're deep enough into the season for me to feel comfortable saying that, Skenes opened the favorite, IMO there's no scenario regardless of who's pitching where the Dodgers should be a HD
Baltimore 18-4 over since the All-Star break. Have to think Jackson Holliday now making an impact playing a role in that. Boston 16-4 over since the break as well and the Yankees 15-5 over. Have to believe these AL East teams were playing each other a lot in the past month.
I don't really buy into the weather argument. Around 2000, I did a study and was blindly betting any MLB game with a temp of 85 of higher. Worked well for several years. Then gradually moved to break even, and eventually a loss. Clearly the market was taking it into account. I believe the baseballs being used play a large role. We've seen the entire league go heavy unders in some periods (2013) and heavy overs in others (2017). And of course Manfred would plead ignorance (could he plead anything else?)
