Thanks man. Kind of amazing. I mean, there’s gotta be some luck involved to go 6-9-9-9 scoreless innings but damn.

23-0 in runs is the second longest streak in major-league baseball playoff history.

I know this Senga guy is gonna be good. He must’ve looked good in practice against batters, or they wouldn’t put him out there.

Mets manage well aware that the Dodgers are the best two out two strike hitting team in baseball not the free swinging Phillies.

It was good to see them get some runs off their other pitchers.

Long way to go…

Also. I got to see an extended shot of the Profar incident. I thought it was just him. They were throwing baseballs at the bullpen pitchers. I was actually disappointed when I saw it. I don’t live in California anymore and it’s been a long time since I’ve been to dodger Stadium. I thought we were talking cups.
I’m pretty sure that if they identified those people that threw baseballs at the bullpen pitchers. They got thrown out. I’d like to at least hope that’s what happened.

You were absolutely correct. I just didn’t see it all.. THOSE people are scum. They don’t deserve a seat.ever again.

The last time a pitching staff went 33 straight innings without giving up a run in the post-season was in the 1966 World Series.

That time, the Dodgers were on the other side of the equation.

Against the Baltimore Orioles, the Dodgers scored a run in the third inning of Game #1, and then never scored again in the four-game sweep.

Nah, I don’t think so Kane. I’m relieved the Dodgers won game one because when is the dam going to break?

Mets with Manea. I’m not looking forward to this one.

I got to see Profar thing because I watched a YouTube clip by a fan and the Padres collapsing. He was terribly upset they never scored a run and called them chokers. A 30 minute YouTube on the Dodgers if they lose in a terrible way. I’ll leave it to somebody else….lol

If it turns out to be major-league baseball dream matchup of Yanks and Mets, I’m there . What the Mets have done to make it didn’t go unnoticed by me.

MLB is okay with a subway series, but their dream matchup is Yankees/Dodgers, Guardians beating the Yankees is MLB's nightmare

Ouch. I heard that stat too and just said ………..shit.

Crazy.

What the Dodger pitching staff has accomplished is truly remarkable considering that the Padres and Mets are teams that have great hitting, and can put a lot of runs on the board in a hurry.

Contrast that to the 1966 Dodgers who were regarded as a light-hitting team that won the pennant because their own pitching staff was so remarkably good (Koufax, Drysdale, Osteen, etc,). They lost both Games 3 and 4 of the World Series to the Orioles, 1-0.

Not that you expect any team to go 33 innings without a run, but the '66 Dodgers were much more likely to have done it.

I’m not gonna quote both you guys I’m speaking to both.

Really Kane? I’m all for that. That’s my dream matchup. Maybe I let the Mets announcer talk me into that was the matchup MLB wanted….🗽

Ouch. I actually try to watch anything from back then. I would’ve loved to seen those guys pitch.

Not surprising the Mets announcer would say that, a subway series would be fun, but trust me, Yankees/Dodgers is what Manfred is praying for. In the NBA Adam Silver would give years off his life to get a Celtics/Lakers finals, or a Knicks/Lakers finals

Right?…lol

I’ll be on Boston again this year. I just don’t see a reason they can’t repeat. I’m not an expert though so any comments appreciated.

Knicks and Sixers figure to be their main competition in the East, both teams with big additions in the offseason, but I like the cohesiveness and chemistry of the Celtics, They're the chalk to win the East and rightfully so, injuries will play a big part as they always do

Word out of Chicago is that Jerry Reinsdorf has had enough and is open to selling the Sox. It will be interesting if Nashville interests come calling.

Dave Roberts 6th most post season playoff wins. These all time playoff numbers are so meaningless. Back in the days before 1969, the only playoff was the World Series. No NLCS or NLDS or wildcard. If they keep expanding maybe we can have a World Series game on Thanksgiving day.

What a blunder MLB is committing by having to wait until Friday to start the World Series.

The Yankees have six days off, and the Dodgers have five. That amount of time is an eternity in baseball with both teams getting rusty.

Meanwhile, you might be squandering nice weather in New York with the three games there now scheduled for the very end of October.

It may not happen this year, but at some point, if this keeps up, you might be playing games in sub-freezing weather.....which is also not conducive for good baseball.

They are too scared to go head to head with the NFL so that takes Thursday out of the equation. Are they afraid of C-USA football? Who knows what goes on in their minds.

Anyone have any thoughts on MVP, given the prices, for me the two monsters are unplayable, the guys I'm considering are Soto +550 and Stanton +900, longer shots would be Torres +4000 or Jazz +6000, on the Dodger side, Mookie +700, longer shots would be Teoscar +2500 or Freddie +2800, not sure about his ankle though

I want to live bet the over every game if first inning or so at 0
Obviously lot of iffy starters both sides. I think both coaches will overrate their bullpens, with better bats on other side than they have seen so far. Especially as series goes on and appearances pile up and few more at bats where they are seen

Muncy is worth a shot.
I was considering him, but he isn't a good enough hitter, he's got power, but he isn't a guy who gets a lot of hits, also he walks too much, I need a guy at the plate who's swinging away. I ended up with Mookie +700 and Teoscar +2500, and on the other side I took Stanton +900 and Jazz +6000

I didn't agree with the Betts intentional walk . You put the winning run on second. Minimum, get him to swing on a bad pitch.

Well, the winning run was already on second base. That being said, I don’t like the intentional walk there either.
As Heim suggests, minimum tease him to swing on a bad pitch instead of just gift wrapping first base.
But also, you raise Freeman’s batting average by 100 points when he knows that you cannot walk him, and are going to get strikes late in the count.

Here's the difference in the series. Dodgers can bring in Graterol, off over a month and he's throwing 99. Cortes, same layoff, 89. LAD bullpen depth hard to beat

looking at the numbers dodgers have the better defense...is why i took LA

1 defense eff. .710 to .703

2 fielding % .985 to .984

3 the biggest one ...def runs saved 66 to 31.. ...........a big KW stat

4.....the dodgers are 6th in speed in MLB

yankees...29th.....so the dodgers get to more balls
