THE BOOMING ECONOMY
One of the great mysteries of the Bush administration's second term (and there are many) is that the economy is booming....and neither the White House nor the media wants to talk about it. Let's take a look at some of the good news, shall we:
1.) Gas prices are dropping like a rock. From a high a few months ago to way over $3, it's now down to a national average of around $2. The marketplace is working, though nobody seems to want to report that fact.
2.) Sales of new homes set a record last month. So much for the housing bubble bursting...doesn't seem to be happening.
3.) The stock market is up. We could break through the 11,000 point by the end of the week.
4.) Consumer confidence is up.
With numbers like these, Bush's approval numbers should be through the roof. But unfortunately, because there is a Republican occupying the Oval Office, the media is springing into action...spinning all the good news as bad. After all there are still Katrina parasites being kicked out of their free hotel rooms.
The media thrives on bad news....so they have to find it even when there really isn't any. President Bush should be giving speeches about the economy, not his phony immigration policy or yet another Iraq speech.
