Nevada race books and Churchill still have no agreement . . .

. . . to simulcast Churchill in the Nevada race books as the greedy bastards can't agree on how to split up the takeout. Has been on going for 11 months.

I hear the Nevada race books will only book, themselves, the Kentucky Oaks, Kentucky Derby, that "special" daily double, and that's it. They can do so as those two races are shown on NBCSN and NBC, respectively.

That means no other races on Churchill's Friday and Saturday cards can be bet. Also, no pick 3's, pick 4's, pick 5's etc.

tick tock tick tock... what a shit situation, horseracing and Churchill makes so many bad mistakes for the fans and Gamblers that want to be a fan and gambler.

Nevada casinos made $27 million over the last year from horse racing in total. That's $363,000 per location for a year. Somehow, someway I think they will survive not having all the Churchill races other than the two people actually want to watch.

No where did I mention anything about the race books not surviving because they're not booking Churchill. Rather, I mentioned the utter stupidity of both greedy sides being unable to decide how to split up the takeout which is pure profit.

Also there is way more that two people in race books in Nevada. Again its rather stupid NOT to book parimutuel horse racing as the book assumes no risk as the takeout occurs before any money is paid out.

Books might think they can make more booking the Derby and Oaks. I read the problem is the rate on every race is fine except Churchill wants a much bigger cut on the Derby. I get why, they spout off all the time to investors about how much they make on the Derby and I'm sure that increased piece of handle on that race is part of it. And I get why the NV books don't want to pay it, that's asinine to say two races should get more cut to the track than any other. So yeah its about greed on both sides, but i think its more a proclamation about how sorry a state race betting is in right now.

Its really time for the NV casinos to step aside and say we'll allow the national ADWs to come in here and we'll just take a small license fee from them to advertise their offerings to our customers. I mean really the guys showing up at your racebooks everyday obviously don't want to use ADWs, so why not acknowledge you can still make a little off the over the counter bettor and then just collect some fees for the rest. I mean its insane that a big regulatory change they have to push is just letting you use money you placed on deposit on the sports side to be used on race side. Such a bunch of heads up their asses, the rest of the country is just making you look so behind the times.
