Curacao--How would it be to live there?

Expensive? Nice climate? love/hate Americans? Walk up sports books?
Taxes on gambling?

Do you need a passport to visit there?

Depends where your relocating from. Very small island...One walk-up that I know of in the holiday beach hotel( pinnacle's office is located in this hotel) You can get bored real fast if you moved from a fast paced city. So unless your making a ton of money too relocate i would not recommend move too Curacao.

Thanks--anyone else have ANY info?

As for a slow pace of life--maybe it's just me; but the older I get the slower I like it.

Agree with Drunk. Very small island. Also beaches aren't that nice. Pretty expensive. Looked there and Costa Rica, chose CR. Have no regrets on that choice.

JJ, you are Hilarious!!!

Drunk, not sure about you, but anyone who lived in Both Places would choose Curacao over CR by a wide margin, the beaches are amoungsts the nicest in the Caribbean and there is no comparison between those and the CR beaches that are a 3 hr ride anyway.

Curacao isnt the best place on earth, thats for sure but its head and shoulders above CR and the other choices we offshore people have. Single guys seem to like it much more then Married guys, but I think thats the same everywhere offshore. It is Expensive, thats a huge Negative and it is super slow but its relatively safe, it never rains, the weather is great, walk up Sportsbook, Poker Room, Golf Course, etc.... Dont come here looking for a job, it will not work out that way, if you have something lined up try to get a living allowance, rental cars, rent and utitilities are a joke

Shoe, the only beaches I liked there were the ones up on the north end. If I recall, took me about 1-1' hours to get there. Did not see any beaches even close to what we have here, but to each their own. Glad you like it there.

Willy, you might have been to a different Curacao, you could go from 1 end to the other in 30 mins flat, 1.5 hour drive would be driving around the entire Island 3 times!

Shoe, might have done just that. Also was only there for less than a week, no enough time to get a real feel for the place. Luckily I fell in love with CR, so won't be looking to move. I do remember seeing some amazing women down there.

America is the best place to live period. Lets not kid ourselves.

I would say CR or Curaco are similar in cost of living but we will let guys answer that live there.

I'm basically with you on this JJ. But every once and awhile, I have to dream the "impossible dream". Going to see Two for the Money tonight. And everytime, I watch a film like that I want to live somewhere that sports gambling does not have a "taboo" attached to it. Yeah--yeah--I know there's a place called Vegas....but the RICH have taken it over from what I hear.

I was planning for a holiday to CR, but if it is even worse than Curacao, forget it completely.

In Curacao you can get US Directv feeds with an 8 foot dish so much more to watch than just Braves games.

No one mentioned the La Mirage aka Campo Allegre compound with over 100 women in cabanas so having JJ talk about women overrated in bed you need to listen to someone that actually has had women in bed.:+excited-:frustrate

Probably more dirt roads in Georgia as well for Dirty living in Bushworld and Wallmart heaven.

One thing I miss about Curacao is the Le De Artiste rib joint. One of the best places to eat down there. Shoe can probably correct me on the spelling and proper name but the place is good. They have a huge indoor barbeque pit. I went there at 3am and the owner, his wife and daughter opened up and cooked for us literally in their pj's. The sportsbook at the Holiday Beach is Calienete but the casino is a dump.
JJ has never been out of Jersey so you will just have to ignore him. Actually, I may be wrong word is he was tied, bound, gagged and dragged to NY one time for a sit down which he received a pass back in 2002.

Not even close between Curacao and Costa Rica, Costa Rica is atleast 3-1 better, everytime you get in a TAXI in Curacao its between $20 and $30 compared to $3 to $5, and dont even COMPARE the food, Tony Roman's, Outback Steakhouse, we can go on and on CHINEESE, JAPANEESE, and SEAFOOD, CURACAO sucks, the only thing they have over Costa Rica is the BEACHES are 15min FLIGHTS in Costa Rica.

JJ, Costa Rica is 4-1 CHEAPER.

Rainbow I meant between Curaco and CR

No comparison in women either. I had a shot like 7 years ago when I was bearding and in CR with a model and she took her cloths off and I just waived her off.

No way would I do that in America

You get bored of campo real fast, belieive me. The beaches ain't that great compared too other places and like I said it gets boring. Never been too CR so I cannot compare it, but I would never live in either place full time. Who the hell wants too live in 3rd world countries unless your making millions, and I can tell you that only a very small % of guys are bringing in that kind of money. I would rather go too the reservation in Montreal too set up a book if I was too give it a go, it may get cold, but montreal is a great place and only 55 minutes from NYC. You can visit the 3rd world places on vacation.

If a guy like you showed up at my restaraunt, as long as it wasn't a buffet I'd get out of bed to cook for you too. I imagine its the same feeling jewellers have when a guy like P Diddy shows up to look at some bling.

Gotta love Krackman, he goes to a beautiful island paradise and the "one" thing he misses was the rib joint. I bet you never met a slab a meat you didnt like.

God bless the fat fuck

I wouldnt live in either place if I had the choice, nothing better then the Good Old USA, problem is this bizness is illegal there!

Rainbow, you are correct about the resturants and taxi's but your trade off is this, CR also has more pollution, more traffic, more crime, and it rains 8 months of the year.

I figured with Pinnacle located there it was probably ok....

------------------------------------------------------------------
Let me try one more approach---If you could live in any place in the world (Other than the USA) that had sports gambling available...where would it be?
