Is there a better name for a baseball player?
Jones has been struggling at the plate this year, and he will be the first to tell you that.
In his 16th season at the Major league level, all of his time has been spent with the Atlanta Braves.
Jones is a career .306 hitter with 430 Hr's and 1468 RBI's. I think he is definitely a Hall of Famer. It will be weird seeing a Braves game without Chipper in the line-up.
Maybe another thing influencing Jones is that this is also Bobby Cox's last year as Braves manager. Jones and Cox have a long storied history together, and have alot of success together.
One thing is for sure, it may be only June, but the Braves have a good team, and they are quietly sitting on top of the National League East Standings in first place. One more playoff run for Chipper Jones? Maybe.
