ive seen show in a 4 horse field several times but usually takes a late scratch for that to happen.

the show in 3 horse field, very interesting! lets get an alert next time!!

Can someone give me a rundown on tracks calculate show payouts?

I've been doing this for awhile now, but I've never seen a straight up calculation for it.

$2.10 seems incredibly short when the horse had less then 50% of the show pool.

every track I've bet at, if there's a late scratch, they ditch the show betting last minute

never heard of show betting on 4 horse field

maybe they don't want to deal with all the refunds?

Whats really odd is that in the 5th race, there were 4 runners and no show betting.... BUT they took superfecta bets ($1 paid $9 even though the winner was a $14 winner)
In the 6th race, there were 5 runners and the superfecta still paid $24 for $1.
In the 10th race, there were 4 runners and they did take show betting. The $7 came in 2nd and paid $11 to show!!

Can you get me the statistics on how well odds-on favorites do at Woodbine TB this year and last?

It seems like they don't win nearly as much as they should, but that could just be a bias on my part.

I haven't been following this thread that closely but i would think that Mountaineer and Charleston are 2 tracks to keep your eye on since they have a min 2.20 payout to bridge jumpers as opposed to the 2.10 that most tracks do. Makes the big show wager much more enticing.

you would think so but there's less bridge jumping at mountaineer than you might think



Indiana Downs r6 is interesting

three coupled entries and all have half scratched

#2B probably goes off at odds on despite losing its entry mate

second had half the entry scratched and failed to hit the board, despite going off at even money in a six horse field

decent show prices as a result
