I vote republican almost solely for tax purposes - the thought of my tax money going to all these social programs turns my stomach - now, being objective this presidency has been just flat out awful - other than the economy staying relatively strong everything else has been a failure - can we get a moderate republican in? please no more religous nuts.

I really doubt most Republican have any regrets, considering the Socialist / Marxist alternitive, that the Democratic party has become. If you are for BIG Government, high taxes, craddle to grave social guidance, than of course the Democratic party is for you.

Other than elderly and disabled, nobody deserves a damn thing and is entitled to nothing but defense of the union. Where in the Constitution is an American grated the right to food stamps, welfare, medicaid, etc...
I haven't worked and studied hard to make something of my life just to watch it being given away via Democrat social programs.

I could care less about any of that, in fact, I agree, except for temporary hardship help, all of that bullshit should be curtailed after 6months of help. But, I don't see any Republicans changing any of that. And on top of that, the Cons are acquiescing to every demand George W Bush has made and the biggest budget and deficit in the history of the United States has happened under your ballless wonder of a President. What does any of that have to do with Democrats taking away your style of living. You and all of those like you are the problem, you stick your heads in the sand while Asshole President spends more than even F. Roosevelt could spend while thousands die and suffer in a hellhole while guys like you bitch and moan about Democrats when it's mostly fucked up by Republicans. Name one thing good that GWB has done, just one. (And taking out Saddam does not count - that was a corollary of his war for profit.)

Bill Clinton deserves credit for signing the Welfare Reform Act during his term. It was a step in the right direction and made it tighter to qualify for than before.
Bush's tax breaks have been very helpful to many middle class familes. The child tax credit is a jackpot. A budget defecit doesn't mean much in reality. Whichever party has the white house blames the other for a defecit. It's been going on in American politics since day 1.
It hasn't exactly been World War II over in Iraq either, don't get carried away now... It is however time to leave Iraq, no doubt about that.

no regrets here. Would like to leave Iraq as soon as possible, as I believe it's time to leave it up to the people we've trained. But overall, I am pleased with the proactive approach to terrorism, rather than the sissified Democratic approach of "Let a bunch of our shit get bombed, then hurl 2 missles in the middle of the desert." In the current world climate, would rather have a bully than some hippy pacifist p ussy in charge. Jmo...
