None can replicate the numbers coming out of NY.
Detroit, chicago, philly, maybe DC, those are the only chances, Large cities in the west are too spread out.
They showed a heat map of the whole country at the briefing that showed the virus collapsing almost everywhere in the country, except the few hot spots. huge drops everywhere the last 2 weeks or so.

I don't think the ride down from a peak would be identical at all. The growth is/was exponential. Unfortunately it's not symetrical with the dispersion. Especially if your peak does not occur when you are 50% of the way towards herd immunity threshold.

It sounds good but that's not the way pandemics work, the peak, then wane. they may and probably will resurge(later), but they just dont plateau and stay there.
There will be more cases when people start mixing again, that's a guarantee, that would be true even if you stay shut for 10 years. The pandemic has peaked and 6 weeks from now it'll be like a faint whisper.

1000% correct. The right wants them back to work to try and save this guys 2nd term. He ain't winning a 2nd term if a cure came out tomorrow and we were all back to work in a week. For me personally I find it fascinating that anyone can follow an individual with no morals, no integrity, and zero truthfulness about himself....I have zero respect for him and his attitude against anyone who disagrees with him is puzzling ....he is nothing but a narcissistic bully....
My opinion means squat and has zero impact on the election and everyday politics....Trump reminds me of the countless cult leaders and religious thieves who line their pockets with easy money...He has no compassion for the average American citizen...the only thing he cares about is his pocketbook....

depends on how mitigation and herd immunity impacts the R naught as it goes
but no i'm not saying its a plateau. I'm saying it will go down more gradual and not be a mirror image of the exponential fast growth leading towards the peak.

I've been saying for weeks it's way too soon to open the country, okay maybe Wyoming and S Dakota, but any big state shouldn't open yet, it's way too soon. What I would do is reevaluate the situation every 2-3 weeks until I felt the time was right
