I listen to Mitch Moss and really like the show.

I stayed at SouthPoint during March Madness and talked with Matt Youmans great guy. He said they were planning on 18 hours of programming during football. That is aggressive.

I'm enjoying VSIN the times I get to listen. I think when they expand their programming day, and especially when the football season comes, they will be a must listen for Football bettors. I think JK would be a natural fit, if he has any interest.
Would also love Groovin and/or CB hosting a weekly show called Toutbusters, busting the charlatans week after week.

one thing that helps a gambling show is gambling. screw touts talking about it, make a bet and show the ticket every now and then, action speaks louder than words.

John The Barber is a complete fraud....I met him a few years ago at South Point and he told me he was a winning player at sports and had not had a losing month in a couple years...said his specialty was hockey and that he bet hundreds on games...I asked the sports book directors about this guy and they told me he was a fifty dollar player at the most and that he was a losing player..they must be hard up for guests to let this guy on the radio...

The problem is that there's no market for that, because these shows all require touts to provide content. Gill Alexander is a long term documented loser, and Dr Bob pretty clearly no longer wins at this, at least in the NBA (anyone who's followed his NBA picks from 2000-present is an overall loser), yet Gill is a regular host on VSIN and Dr Bob was just on with him the other day. Gill is clueless about optimal betting but is a slick talker, so to a novice it sounds like he knows what he's talking about, even though most of what he says is non-predictive or rectally extracted. Long term winning is not a requirement to be on one of these shows as long as it sounds good.

In some old thread I was recently reading from a while back, ComptrBob had a good quote, when someone asked why he didn't do more radio appearances, he said something to the effect of "a show can't exactly have a bunch of guests on, and then have another guest on who tells the audience that all of the other guests lose."

A few people on Twitter tried to get me on some radio show where the host is supposedly "edgy" and likes controversy, and thought I would be a good fit to rant about touts, so I said sure. The host told them "Oh I can't have that guy on, he rips on good and honest handicappers like Teddy Covers." ComptrBob has tracked Teddy for about 8 years and has him down -128.85 units as of May 1st, so my "ripping on Teddy" is based on documented evidence, but these radio hosts don't care about facts.

I hear ya, but I Hope(probably fruitlessly) that as VSIN expands for Football, there will be a market for such a Consumer Protection type show, even if they have touts on other programs.

Interesting Vaccaro thought up 2-0 heading to CLEV was worth -17 for CAVS. Then others come on after Jimmy & said the number was closer to 8-9. Big gap between bookmaker & talking heads.

Re: VSIN

A lot of the current programming is really hard to listen to and stay tuned in. The Pauly/Mitch show just rambles with no real direction. They should have stayed where they were as their style is more 'general sports talk'.

I wanted to like Gill Alexander but two hours of dry, dull, sports analytics is not entertaining, and that is what they need to focus on. Some of his regular guests are knowledgeable, but I'm not listening to hear that there are 6 cents of 'value' with Sentazala over Greinke at home with the wind blowing in.

VSIN Programming day expansion starting August 28th: VSIN programming alert: 7 a.m. Eastern will be the new start time for the Vegas Stats & Information Network, beginning on Monday, Aug. 28. You will be able to "Follow the Money" with Mitch Moss and Pauly Howard live from the VSiN studio in the middle of Las Vegas' only 24-7 sports book here at the South Point Hotel. Follow the Money will expand to three hours from its current two and run from 7-10 a.m. Eastern weekdays on SiriusXM 204 and VSiN.com. We'll have more details on the rest of the programming schedule later this week.

Re: VSIN

They need to make the archived shows available in podcast form; specifically eliminating the myriad of commercial breaks. I would prefer a one day old VSIN podcast with no commercials over the current day show with commercial breaks every 10 minutes.

As for content, more handicapping and less tout talk.

Jonathan Von Tobel is total garbage. Can't believe they would put this amateur on their air and radio waves. Total piece of crap. Like Matt Youman but too hard to sit through the immature and unprepared Von Tobel to get nuggets from Youman.

Havent had a chance to really listen for a month now but I agree with your assessment of Von Tobel and Youman.

VSIN isn't much of a factor nationally since their first week. Don't see it lasting more than 18-24 months unless they want to keep losing tons of money. The hosts and guests IMO aren't very compelling.

Their play is PASPA revocation. I like the network, but the appeal is limited now. It'll grow exponentially if the case goes the right way.

Re: VSIN

VSIN's problem: even if they have a good guest on, it can only stay on for 5 minutes before they have to take a 3 minute commercial break. If you hear the show on Sirius, most of that commercial time isn't from outside sponsors; its mostly just Sirius pumping up other Sirius channels.

VSIN now has an app. I wouldn't be surprised if they also have VSIN endorsed Sportsbook software in their future when/if this explodes nationally.
