This thread turned out to be much less of an indictment (read only to find some reason to not get to work) once it was revealed that it was the El Cortez coffee shop.

I’ve low-tipped or no-tipped at that coffee shop. Like the property, and the folks at the sports book (a South Point affiliated book) are always friendly and helpful.

But the service at the coffee shop on occasion is distracted to nonexistent. (Nor do I like being seated at those two-seaters arranged around the circular settee that looks like it came from an old-time brothel. Now if they had the corresponding ladies lounging languidly on the settee, well then . . . .) If I’m eating there, it’s generally a spur of the moment last resort kind of thing.

I’m a pretty consistent 20% tipper (kind of goes with what my real world name means in Las Vegas slang), but I’ve been pushed to low tip or no tip there. Having waited tables, I usually will cut a waiter or waitress slack, and I understand that I’m not at Petrossian at the Bellagio when I’m there, but . . . .

He is a lying sack of ****. THERE IS no #)*%(#*%% *way I tipped 13% for that crappy food and the agonizing slow service.............NO #)(*%#%(* way. 10% tops.

If you would not have left that pile of pennies on the table then your tip would have been around 10%.

What in the fuck are you doing walking around with a pocket full of pennies?

When you asked for and got a bigger table so you could look at your computer you should AUTOMATICALLY tip over the standard gratuity of 15% because the person working that table should make more then the $2.30 you left after sitting there for two(2) hours.

Cry all you want about the food and service. What you did in the El Cortez coffee shop the other day was sad. 2938u4ji23 2938u4ji23 2938u4ji23

and if you take a 4 top by yourself for hours its 40% or more.

Bingo!

Stevie did not want the table for two(2). He wanted the bigger table for four(4) people even though he was by himself. Then he sits there for two(2) hours drinking soda after soda after soda and then leaves two(2) lowly $1 bills and a pile of pennies for the gratuity which totaled about 13% of the bill.

How would you like to serve this fucking clown if you are a waiter? 2348ji23e 2348ji23e 2348ji23e

This is also the same John Kelly who did not get up one(1) time after he saw me in the Golden Nugget buffet. He was hiding behind a wall hoping I did not see him.

I sat in the Golden Nugget buffet from 2:15pm pacific time until 3:30pm pacific time and not one(1) time did JK go get any food.

He was so scared that I would see him he made Barry Holthaus go and get dessert for him. It was pretty funny watching him hide all that time.

As far as sneaking out the backdoor, the Golden Nugget buffet has no backdoor. You go up the escalator to get there and down the escalater to go back to the casino. I walked right past John Kelly on the way in and on the way out so I am not sure what he is talking about?

Now if you clowns will excuse me I need to get ready for 5:00pm Mass at the Catholic Cathedral here on Las Vegas Blvd. next to the Wynn casinos where I volunteer as an usher every Sunday for about two(2) hours.

True story. John Kelly did not get up one(1) time.

Now Barry on the other hand is a whole different story. He made several trips to the buffet feeding area and every time he went back to the table he had something for JK.

Fezzik's crew constantly evolving. The assault on the Ellis Island placemats caused them to discontinue the promotion and ruin it for a lot of us. Now a group of APs have been seen around town taking liberal advantage of the "give a penny, 'take' a penny" policy of most LV businsesses.

We? Who in the fuck is we?

Now let me give you some advice you ass clown. Call my friend Jimmy Vaccaro and ask him to go out and eat with you. I have been to breakfast with Mr. Vaccaro by myself just me and him NO LESS then five(5) times since I came to Las Vegas and let me tell you how things are done.

When you walk into the coffee shop(we use to go to the Palace Station) you sit at the table and as soon as the waitress comes over you give her $10. Then you sit there, eat and keep your mouth shut about the service. Then you leave and say thank you.

You don't go into a restaurant by yourself asking for a large table so you can set your computer on and then tie the thing up for two(2) hours leaving a $2.30 tip which included a handful of pennies that came out to about a 13% gratuity of the total bill.

Would you like me to call Jimmy for you Fezzik and see if he has time to go out and eat with you so he can teach you how the two(2) time Hilton Super Contest Champion(which is something only yourself and Jeff Allen have done which puts you in elite company) should act in public?

Two things strike me about this thread that Meatman started. You can either call me a snob or person with good taste but I for one would never eat at any restaurant at the El Cortez. It's a shithole. The one time I stepped into this hotel/casino over 20 years ago the smell drove me out within two minutes. Other than the Golden Nugget and maybe a station's casino property I find every other property downtown to be absolute low end crapola. As for tipping. I always follow this guideline. Poor service, let the manager know why you gave 15-18%, decent service 20%, above and beyond the call of duty 22-25% and if I take up a large table or have a business meeting for two for 1 1/2 to 2 hours I tip double what the normal amount should be.

First of all, no mention is made whether the restaurant was crowded or not and if people were waiting to get seated. If a restaurant is "dead'', what difference does it make if he has a table for 4 or even 8. When I go to breakfast at the Silverton, there's many a time that I sit in a booth for 6 if it gives me a good view of the Keno board and I want plenty of room. I over tip no matter what so tipping isn't an issue. I wouldn't take a booth if the restaurant is crowded and sometimes I even sit at the counter.

Yes the place was crowded. Of course the El Cortez coffee shop is always crowded because the food there is pretty good.

The bottom line right here is Steve Fezzik refused to sit at a table reserved for single people who are eating alone like he was that day. Nope he wanted a larger table for four(4) people so he could set up his computer.

Then this clown proceeds to sit there for well over two(2) hours making the waitress refill his soda glass no less then five(5) times before leaving two(2) $1 bills and a pile of pennies on the table which came out to a 13% gratuity on the bill before tax.

You can say the food and service was bad all you want Steve. You ate at a table that you had no business being on per your request and then sat there for over two(2) hours which is about three(3) times the length of an average customers visit.

Sad. Sad. Sad.

Poor service, let the manager know why you gave 15-18%, decent service 20%, above and beyond the call of duty 22-25% and if I take up a large table or have a business meeting for two for 1 1/2 to 2 hours I tip double what the normal amount should be.

You might want to go into a place in the last 20 years before you call a place a "shithole." El Cortez is quite nice old school casino. I've only had breakfast in their coffee shop though the Flame is quite nice as well. Also what Station casino is downtown?

Maybe he was eating? :pop:

I know you're pretty skeptical of all people that remain at an establishment as long as you for a couple reason;

1. How can someone possibly be eating for as long as you? The eating king of Las Vegas - Mr. Buffet himself being out sat by scrawny JK? Not possible.
2. People tend to be skeptical of activities that they partake in themselves - you watching Fezzik eat, while counting his drink refills on your toes, lead you to believe that others enjoy the activity of restaurant spying on their E-adversaries.
3. You have been arrested/charged/convicted of stalking so many times that, just like a homo can pick out a homo, you think you can pick out a fellow stalker.

Speaking of the Flame I ate there last night. I have the trout almandine, mashed potatoes, garlic spinach and I nice bottle of wine.

Don't believe what Fezzik is saying about the El Cortez. He is a cheap mother fucker and he proved it when he left a pile of pennies on the table he was eating at and even with the change his gratuity did not equal 15% which is sad tipping being that he a two(2) time Hilton Super Contest winner.

OK John. Let's play Fact or Fiction.

I got to the Golden Nugget buffet at 2:00pm pacific time and left at 3:15pm pacific time.

Fact or Fiction. You did not get up one(1) time during the seventy-five(75) minutes I was eating in the Golden Nugget buffet?

You're right, Dave.

I made one trip to the buffet.

No dessert for me.

In spite of what you think, I have no problem with you despite your poor treatment of me.

Why didn't you visit me when our mutuel friend and your dining partner came to my table?

Who stopped by Wynn Las Vegas to say hello to you on Preakness Day?

If memory serves, I welcomed you to Las Vegas when you first arrived from New Orleans.

In fact, I remember taking a phone call from Jay Kornegay of the Hilton SuperBook seven or eight years ago when he wanted to learn more about your background.

I didn't bury you then and I'll restrain from burying you now.
