Yup, sanctions will cripple russia. It's not just the fact Russia is getting around sanctions(that was predictable), it's how easy it's been and how eager other nations are to poke the west in the eye.

russia was looking for china to sign a natural gas deal.. sort of like the way saudi did with china a oil deal for 25 years.

russia got nothing. China sees what russia did to europe by closing off their gas. China no dummies

What are you talking about, they apparently agreed to build the "power of siberia 2" pipeline that will send far more gas to china - roughly the amount that was going through the nord stream. It'll be up and running in 6-7 yrs.

(Reuters) — Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with his counterparts from China and Mongolia on Thursday, where they discussed a major new infrastructure project, Power-of-Siberia 2, to deliver gas to China via Mongolia.

Russia proposed the route years ago, but the plan has gained urgency, as Moscow looks to Beijing to replace Europe as its major gas customer.

Negotiations will be complex, however, not least because China is not expected to need additional gas supply until after 2030, industry experts said.

What Is the Power of Siberia 2 Pipeline?

The proposed pipeline would bring gas from the huge Yamal peninsula reserves in west Siberia — the main source of gas supply to Europe — to China, the world's top energy consumer and growing gas consumer.

The idea gained impetus when the first pipes of the currently operational Power of Siberia pipeline were laid in Russia's eastern Yakutia region in 2014.

That pipeline runs for 3,000 km (1864.11 miles) through Siberia and into northeastern China's Heilongjiang province.

The new route would cut through the eastern half of Mongolia, arriving into northern China's Inner Mongolia region, not far from major population centers like Beijing, according to a map drawn up by Russia's Gazprom.

Gazprom began a feasibility study on the project in 2020 and is aiming to start delivering gas by 2030.

The 2,600-km pipeline could carry 50 billion cubic meters (Bcm) of natural gas a year, Gazprom says, slightly less than the Nord Stream 1 pipeline which links Russia to Germany under the Baltic Sea.

What Does Mongolia Say?

Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh said on Thursday that he supports the construction of oil and gas pipelines from Russia to China via Mongolia, adding that its technical and economic justification should be studied.

Mongolian Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai told the Financial Times in July that he expected Russia to begin construction on the pipeline within two years.

Luvsannamsrai also said the final route of the line through Mongolia was not yet decided, according to the newspaper.

I'm amused by the narrative that because china and russia didn''t announce certain things, such as weapons deliveries, that means it didn't happen.

While I would love it if china simply announced unlimited weapons to russia and basically told the US to F off. That's not the way international relations works.

anything good in their favor they announce.. that is why they did not say anything...china as of right now does not want it

as for weapons china says nothing cause they are will get fined.

russia needs china.. china does not need russia.

the US does not need tanks... they sell equipment to europe... if nato fought russia they would use helicopters and jets from the US

nobody has more jets and helo than the USA

china is a long range bomber / jet / ship and sub fight at sea,,,,,,,,,no tanks needed

Those countries have had western help for generations(actually century's), basically the west robbed them blind and wants to keep them poor and dependent forever(sound familiar?).

They're finally wising up, most of these countries have very violent extremeist groups that can kill a lot of people, but those groups are also small, a few hundred wagner guys can clean them up, then they train the local forces to do it on their own.

This happened this week down there - 9 chinese who work at some gold mine were killed, the western media is blaming the wagner group,. About a 1% chance this is true, 99% chance it's the US trying to split russia and china. We're dirty as heck.

Apparently the wagners provide security at the mine, what are the odds they decided to kill a bunch of chinese?

Old tensions, rising

The outgunned local Coalition of Patriots for Change (CPC), a loose affiliation of anti-government groups with the stated aim of ousting President Faustin Archange Touadera, has already rejected suggestions they were behind the attack.

The coalition is aligned with the ex-0president Francois Bozizé, himself ousted in 2013.

The CPC instead called it a “despicable and barbaric” act, and pointed the finger directly at Russia’s particularly active Wagner mercenary group who’ve been operating in the region for several years, ever since Touadera invited Russian forces to bolster security, in the face of armed groups connected to the CPC.

By 2020 these groups had taken control of large swathes of the CAR and were turning their attention to the capital, Bangui.

Stiffened by Wagner mercenaries, Russian forces were able to halt the rebel offensive and eventually forced them out of most of their territories and cities they previously controlled.

Meanwhile, Xi is in Russia this week just as Beijing and Moscow are bolstering their military alliance and their joint presence across Africa.

The Russian paramilitary presence has been a source of its own tension, the Wagner Group has previously been accused by the UN of violence, harassment and intimidation civilians.

“One out of every three major infrastructure projects in Africa is built by Chinese state-owned enterprises, and one out of every five is financed by a Chinese policy bank,” Paul Nantulya of the US Department of Defense’s Africa Center for Strategic Studies, told AFP.

Xi Just Bought Himself a Headache in Moscow

As the Chinese leader will soon discover, having sway over Vladimir Putin doesn’t necessarily mean having leverage over him.
Xi Jinping’s powwow with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin this week was no summit of equals. The Chinese leader returns home in a clearly dominant position, assured that a Russia weakened by its war of aggression in Ukraine will have to rely on China for trade, technology and diplomatic support for years to come.

Yet, those fretting that Russia’s dependence on its autocratic neighbor will strengthen China’s efforts to challenge the US-led West should not panic. Chinese leaders will soon discover that keeping their strategic partnership viable and strong will be harder than it looks.

Where do you get all this crap? Russias standing with other countries has improved all over the world with the exception of US puppet states. it's not an accident that country after country has their leaders and diplomats visiting moscow. Every major nation in asia, africa and latin america wants to stick their finger in the eye of the US. Just as russias economy will be far better off without the pollution of western money and values, the rest of the world will discover the same thing.
