wantitall,

Why were you banned there? :+clueless

P.S.

I am thinking of actually starting another website named www.BANNEDPOSTERS.com

I believe it would have more traffic than some other forums I know of...

Anyone want to go partners? :smokesmal

THE SHRINK

I was being my usual short and to the point type of guy :D

Commenting on some book, actually it might have even been Aces saying that they weren't as liquid as everyone thought. Then when they started the line manuvers and offering the world I was saying people should be VERY careful

As usual I got ganged up on and everyone came out of the wood work to defend them saying they were the richest and the best, and Charlie was booking before I was born ad he KNEW what he was doing...same old same old. Til about 3 months later.

But the more things change the more they stay the same.

I still say the same things today I said back then, except as time goes by I have more examples to point to where am "right" more than I am "wrong".

THAT is the irony of all ironies. This is for a BOOK EVALUATION.

I made one a long time ago and they didn't like it. So I am not sure they would like any others I might give.

I actually think its a good thing. Nice to see what other posters experiences are with books. When the threads come up on different books things always turn ugly quick. Seems like a nice way to find out about how a book is from other posters with out all the bullsh!t.

As you know, NO ONE has been banned here and we welcome any and all Feedback about our sports books and all others...

Heck, even KOSAR and his sociopathic personality is ok...:D

Ken and John know how hard and complex the rating process is. Players feedbacks are definitely important, but do not provide the full spectrum of information that only direct knowledge of an operation can grant.

MW new feature may become of some relevance, but it will indeed remain far from the accuracy of information that real rating sites provide punters with.

Ya it sure is hard Roberto.

Whoever pays the most. Can be tricky at times. :D

Wantitall, we have 2 people banned at MW. You are not one of them. If you need your password just email me at russ@majorwager.com you are more than welcome to rate whoever your want.

Players input into this system is what will make it truly successfull. It is a system designed for players to share their experiences.

What Ken, Roberto, John or I have to say about about is 100% biased. Anyone who tells you any different is lying. Now I can understand why some of us owners might feel a tad unconfortable with a system such as this :+signs11-

One of the owners of an A rated book sent me an email saying this ...TERRIBLE IDEA....takes the whole SCAM out of watchdogging....how dare you

A compilation of legitimate players experiences if far more valuable than the site who gets the biggest percentage or monthly fee.

Here are three reviews with well thought out players input. Truly invaluable and makes everything else obsolete. Be sure to click on "read all user ratings" to read some very well thought out critiques.

This is 5dimes review.

Site looks good Ken, keep up the great work!!!

Well, I guess you talk out of your direct experience Russ.

I still believe you might be surprised of the number of books that EOG, SBR and TOW turned down.

As I said: your project is worth to be looked at since it provides players experience, but lacks of complete info.

BTW.....SBR and SportsCrew have had the same system in place for quite a while.

GL with your efforts.

Its a good idea what Russy is doing and different but I just hope guys just dont sign up and ghost and blast or praise a book for various reasons. I hope there is a post number before you can review a book.

Lets see how it develops

Kudos, Russ.. it's a good idea. I have always believed that the true power of the boards comes from their posters.

The fact that a player can now have the ability to share his experiences and opinions with any given book (sponsor or not), and that many places are providing players with very specific tools to facilitate this process... it's a thing of beauty.

We (SportsCrew.com) implemented something like this almost a year ago. We created specific ways to rate books by simply 'clicking' on different blanks in a form... we then coolect all the info and display it by name and category:
  • general reviews
  • e-mail response test (I created and conducted the first test of this kind ever... bragging smiley here...LOL)
  • live chat tests
  • phone responses tests
  • and payout tests
If any of our users want to see what other players think of any given book in any of those areas, then all they have to do is click on that category.

I think it would be of great advantage to have all the gaming portals implement something like that and try to keep it as objective as possible. That would be the voice of players straight form the grinder....

:+thumbs-2

You guys have to fix the quote feature, I just had a huge comment freeze up on me. I can't even go and cut and paste it as it is completely frozen.

To parapahrase...

Major-
I must have been one of the hundreds of bannings/suspensions that were only temporary or something. Or maybe it was JJ when he got the administrative password, but I don't think he even "existed" then. I simply never went back and tried once I tried a couple times and realized I couldn't post anymore.

As for the idea...

I listed a group of books that over the years have been touted and subsequently crucified by players/forums. In no particular order: Aces, New Age(NAB), Jazz, Bluegrass, Camelot, Blue Marlin, Little Nasa, Big Nasa/Omni, Betpanam, Black Rhino, Pro5, Cascade, BetMega, Millenium, Royal, Yahoops, Goliath, Homebets, DSI, Beverlyhillsbookie, and a few I have forgotten I am sure, so feel free to add. But ALL these books were first touted and defended, and THEN when all was lost "offical warnings" were given, but FAR too late for most people.

I also remember some negative comments about Pinnacle, Olympic, CRIS, Canbet(before they were sold), Cascade, Hollywood, SIA,BoDog and some others for sure. But some of those negative comments caused runs on banks, players closing accounts, and bashing the places mercilessly with little or no information.

It is a mob mentality. People pile on for better or for worse. A couple negative comments might not be enough to hurt a major book, but add some comments form "respected" posters and that tide will turn. Pinnacle and Oly the top 2 books on most people lists had MAJOR runs on them because of poeters. Oinnacle was new at the time, but the allegations against them were totally unfounded, and when they survived, they basically took over the sportsbetting world.

The funniest thing is the STIFF books always got defended or had people coming to their rescue, while the Olympics and Pinnacles had to rely on their character and ability to take the storm to help themselves. Sure a few posters might try and help, but when the mob is stirred it doesn't help.

That is why having a poster rating system is pretty useless. On the surface it seems like a great idea. But for the most part it will be the same ass kissing fest for the great books, the critical comments a for the "recreationl" players only books, and the crucifiction of the most obvious scam books. You can get that by doing a search of the forums.

Then there are the possibities of schills and paid posters giving positive feedback to a place just to help the rating. Or players that are trying to get paid keeping silent so THEY get paid, and not alerting people of what they know is going on. Touchy subject, but one that most people would handle the same way...watch out for number one.

People have no clue what these books do. As long as they get pad they are happy, if they don't they piss and moan. Other thanhtat they know nothing. Even if you think you are buddy buddy with a lineman, a manager, an operator, or some other lackey. You still don't know much. Think they are going to tell you anything, let alone the truth?

So the first thing you should do is make sure people commenting actually play at these books, and secondarily what their history there is in terms of time. Also whether or not someone is scalping or middling, bonus chasing, or trying to past post. Whther theyare a "recreational player" or an habitual action junkie, or someone trying to win.

Obvious these criteria makes it more difficult, but when you are allowing people to judges, they should be held to some standards as well. Logistically it probably isn't possible. But not having some requirements makes the whole rating system null and void.

It is difficult to be objective, especially if you got caught doing something you probably shouldn't have done. A lot of judgement calls out there in terms of disputes. Having posters make an assessment is very touchy, since usually there are 3 sides, the players side, the books side, and the truth.

So an otherwise good book, might have cancelled a wager, and be crucified for it, when the whole time the player was taking a shot. Then there are some that go both ways, where the book and the player were both wrong, how do you judge them? Cascade is a great example there. Sure they paid (donated to a charity) a guy who took a shot, and got caught. BUT, they changed their rules AFTER the fact. There haven't been any instances of flagrant problems with them since, but that one sticks a little. They survived their financial problems (apparently) so they might be better for it now, a lot of people like them.

But that is another thing, posters opinions change more than their underwear. One day they might love aplace, and on a dime they are crucifying the place. Whether they play there or not. The mob mentlity I mentioned before. Even peole that claim they know, don't really know. All they know is what has happened to them, nothing more, nothing less. Everything else is conjecture.

Good idea, but IMO not a reliable one.

Leave me out of this boys, I did not ban Wanty.................

I am banned at MW which solidifies me even more as the most influential poster in the world.

Poster ratings can be very biased too so there is no real accurate way to rate books. The best way is to experience books yourselves.

I only use SBR ratings because they have been around for a long time and he has over 20 guys on his payroll going to these books and investigating. These guys know everything and are on the inside. I do not want some agenda driven poster to influence a sportsbook rating because he lost at the book or does not like lines or any other sellfish reason. If you do not go to the book and know everyone behind them you cannot have accurate ratings.

The poster ratings at MW will be another tool though in helping players decide to play there or now but again it is best that you do your own homework and make your own decisions.

Note on the technical side... I had the same problem as "want". I hit the quote button, and typed a response, and my computer locked up.
