to his credit at least so far Willliams is on the move looking to throw while fields was on the move looking to run

Totally different qbs. It really hurts when Moore has been the only healthy WR.

IMO, Houston was a top 5 pass rush last year. Then they add Denile Hunter. Could very well be the best pass rush in the NFL right now. We may get a much different view tomorrow.

Possibly the #1 reason along with the OL the Bears are struggling is OC Shane Waldron. He leaves the Seahawks and look at them now, 3-0. That 4th and goal call is just the icing on the cake. His play calling is awful!

#1 reason is ownership

It was pointed out on the postgame show that after they scored the TD a coach was holding up 1 finger which led to the sideline confusion and a timeout

The Bears trailed by two scores for just about 10 minutes game time. The rest was either a one score game, or 22 minutes of a scoreless tie. You aren't trailing by 3 TDs. Why would Waldron have a rookie QB drop back 56 times? Meanwhile only running 28 times, exactly one third, against a weak run D without their primary run stopper? I know the run was struggling yesterday but they gave up on it too quickly. That's on Waldron.

One of the more frustrating games to watch as a Bears fan. The overnight postgame show was pure gold as thr Justin Fields truthers were out in full force.

Tom Brady dropped a bomb on Sunday.

During Fox's broadcast of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Philadelphia Eagles game in Week 4, Brady revealed he almost signed with the Chicago Bears as a free agent in 2020. He ultimately signed with the Buccaneers.

Brady said that he created 18 criteria for each of the franchises he was considering after he walked away from the New England Patriots. He brought the notecards he used to help determine his next destination.

The three-time MVP said, "Chicago was a team, and I've never told that story before, they were very stealth in their recruitment. I was seriously considering, but in the end, it came down to Tampa. And it was close to my son Jack, I loved Bruce Arians and the role that he played in offense, and ultimately the great players like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin that I'm still out there watching today."

Poles would not pass up taking Williams....it was, in a sense, a freeroll for himself

There were only two guys. Why marry yourself to one of them 2 months before the draft? Thinking Daniels would do well wasn't going out on a giant limb; he WAS the 2023 Heisman winner.

I heard the media labeling this week as an "Andy Dalton revenge game". Dalton has been with so many teams, aren't most of his games revenge games?

If Poles doesnt draft williams and he goes on to be good or better he is the guy who passed on williams.
Draft williams and if he busts its " well everyone would have taken him...thats the breaks " and poles lives on.

Williams has improved its only 4 games in...maybe he can be good despite this staff/orginization

I think that was the thinking heading into the 2023 season. But who won the Heisman last year and deservedly so? It was as if their minds were made up the second the season was over, and being inflexible not a good thing when drafting players.

We wont ever know unless he were to admit it but, just my opinion ,poles would never stick his neck out drafting someone else even if he thought daniels was better

The Bears now 3-18 on the road under Eberflus. And the 3 wins were all national TV stand alone games (vs Patriots, Washington last year, and the Vikings). Players can motivate themselves in those games. But in the non national TV games? Eberflus not inspiring them at all. He's the anti-Tomlin.

Lol at Stevenson when he found out he wasn't starting today. He walked off the practice field.

Announcers are right, what's Williams doing in the game down 20 with minutes left. Dumb.

Giving up a 50 yard run with 3 seconds in the half? That's a mental lapse......and we had a big mental lapse last week. That is on the coaching staff.

According to Adam Chernoff, that run was the longest run in the history of the NFL in the final 10 seconds of the first half. #quit

Eberflus has to go.

Watch the wild scamble play in the 1st Q when it was still scoreless.
DJMoore walks off the field during the play and starts to sit on the bench as Williams throws the ball

dead man walking. If there ever was a must-win, it’s vs NE this week. They still have 6 division games and at SF in the last 8 weeks.

If you're going to use Caleb Williams as a drop back passer exclusively, you ain't going to win. He's not Peyton Manning.

So OC Waldron is out....that will change things on offense?

Williams and receivers seem out of sync to me. But the Bear faithful herein can probably tell me more.

It's not the OL, it's not the WR's, it's your QB. The kid is hanging on to the football too long, it's that simple.

They talked about a stat yesterday he's been sacked more than any other QB in the league when his OL is winning.

Of course just the simple eye test should tell you that.

Offense is predicated on timing, it's not like defense. If you play OL they don't teach you how to block for 6 seconds every play.

If you're a WR you play best when things are on time. You live to run your routes and the ball be there. That's your bread and butter.

I do agree the coaching staff has some blame in this as well but as for on the field players it's the QB that is the problem.

This isn't the PAC-12, this isn't the place to play hero-ball.

Looks good when it works, gets you on Top-10 plays but not how you win consistently in the NFL.

Offense is all about timing for everyone on the field, when your QB doesn't understand and/or can not execute you're going to struggle.

I would say by watching their offense it's a combination of the two things. The OL can't block, pick up blitzes & their QB is holding onto the ball way too long. They also rarely ever go uptempo to keep the defense off balance and blitzing less.

Sure, the OL can always play better, no argument from me there......

That's even more of a reason for Caleb to prioritize getting the ball out on time.

I absolutely agree the coaching staff plays a big part in this as well.

It's almost cliche but work at simplifying things for him so he can find his rhythm.

Yep. I'm always harping on this too. Even with an experienced QB it can help a struggling offense to start running tempo.

I'm a Bucs fan, can't count how many times just switching to running no-huddle or sugar can change the dynamics of the offense.

Not just for "bad" QB's either, even good QB's and good offenses can be jump-started by changing in game tempo.

I don't think teams do it enough.

They played good enough to win. A 46 yard FG is well within Santos' range.

There's a local broadcaster in Chicago who has an expression "Bears gonna bear".

What does BGB mean? It means they will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Example A: the 46 yard FG attempt at the end of the game. BGB.

They obviously should have tried to get another 10-15 yards. The Bears played well enough to win. If the Bears had a coach like Jim Harbaugh they would have a winning record.
