Athletics moving to West Sacramento

AP -The Oakland Athletics lease is expiring at the end of 2024. The A's, the only minor league team left in all of professional baseball will be moving to the western Sacramento region to play the next 3 seasons until 2028 when they begin play in Las Vegas.

I thought there were certain territories already laid out; for instance, the Giants have a minor league team in San Jose, so the A's could never go there. The Giants AAA team is in Sacramento....not sure how they swung this.

The owner of the Sacramento Kings {Vivek Ranadive} is also the Majority~Owner of the RiverCats. He’s BOOKUU Daddy~War~Bucks & would surly be interested in buying the As if the Vegas deal doesn’t happen…

They couldn’t go to SJ because it’s considered SF’s home market, they would have to compensate the Giants. The AAA team could be worked out. Sac is no one’s home market. I think that is a better long term option for the A’s if they would commit (they wont).
