the ol fella from Tour Tips out of I believe London ... sorry ... forgot his name

he had Oligivey at 16-1 last week that hit and Greene this week at 9-1 to finish in the Top 10
and that looks rock solid heading into Sunday

FYI

Good luck ...

Re: Commissioner Tim Finchem's 2009 PGA Tour Picks

well I went 0-fer again this week but MAN it was almost very profitable...lossed two of the group bets by a stroke and Howell missing a 3 footer on 18 didn't help thats for sure, especially considering he had the lead at one point on the back nine and could have potentially won my "win" bet also:doh1

That being said, I feel very confident in my picks this year so far. It has come down to the last few holes on most bets which is a good sign. Golf is a lose, lose, lose, win big sport so I'm not concerned in the least that I haven't cashed any of the picks. We move to the desert next week for the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. Picks will be posted on Tuesday night.

Okey dokey folks...we got the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic beginning tomorrow...a unique event in that it is 90 hole, 5 day event with no cut until after Saturday's round. This tournament is traditionally a birdie-fest so as you can expect, I'll be picking guys that traditionally go low.

To Win Picks
DJ Trahan +3300 100/3300
Ryan Moore +6600 100/6600
Steve Marino +4000 100/4000
Jeff Quinney +15000 100/15000
Chad Campbell +2200 100/2200

Group Bets
Chad Campbell +333 vs Verplank, Goggin, Imada, Ames 1000/3333
Dustin Johnson +333 vs Reavie, Haas, Perez, Senden 1000/3333
Bill Haas +350 vs Johnson, Reavie, Perez, Senden 1000/3500
Steve Marino +300 vs Gay, Trahan, Duke, Wi 1000/3000
DJ Trahan +350 vs Marino, Gay, Duke, Wi 1000/3500
Brian Gay +340 vs Marino, Trahan, Duke, Wi 1000/3400
Steve Stricker +380 vs Leonard, Toms, Weir, Clark 1000/3800

writeups to follow

Re: Commissioner Tim Finchem's 2009 PGA Tour Picks

To Win Picks
DJ Trahan-the defending champ...he makes a ton of birdies and has played very well so far this season

Ryan Moore-a complete homer pick as he is my favorite player on Tour...I will be playing him a lot this year "to win" as my guy is primed for a breakout season with multiple wins

Steve Marino-led the PGA Tour in birdie average last year and that should suit him very well this week...he is coming off a strong week at the Sony and he scares me when I bet against him so I decided to add him to the roster this week

Jeff Quinney-quite simply, I am stunned at the value here...he is a MUCH better player than the odds Vegas is giving him...maybe he has an injury or something I don't know about but I haven't heard anything like that

Chad Campbell-the Texan is a former winner of this event and is one of the best ballstrikers on Tour...this should suit him well this week

Group Bets
Marino, Gay, Trahan vs Wi, Duke-You may be wondering why in the hell I would bet 3 guys out of a group of 5. Quite simply, I do not see how the old guy Duke nor Wi can beat one of my 3 guys over 90 holes. My thinking is that if Marino beats out the others, I will break even. If Gay or Trahan wins then I will turn a small profit or if any of the 3 tie then I am in good shape also

Campbell vs Verplank, Ames, Goggin, Imada-I'm putting a lot of trust in Chad playing well this week. That being said, all 4 of these guys are capable of winning this week.

Johnson, Haas vs Reavie, Perez, Senden- I like both Dustin and Bill Haas. The young guns have been playing well. Senden is a bit of an unknown and past his prime. Reavie is solid but does not traditionally make a lot of birdies which will be needed this week. Perez, as I have said many times, is a complete hothead who loses his cool at some point during every tournament. I love to bet against him.

Stricker vs Leonard, Toms, Weir, Clark-I like this group bet the least and am actually kind of wishing I had not made it in hindsight. All 4 are fantastic players and could win the entire thing. But Steve is steady as can be and is a viable candidate to take home the trophy on Sunday night....the value was good also compared to the others

lots of action obviously this week...hopefully I can bring home some cash and my boy Ryan Moore can win it all!!:houra

A measly $100 loss this week as I got just absolutely screwed by Stricker's play today...he had a 10 shot lead over the nearest guy in my group and he shot a WHOPPING 77 today to blow the tournament win and my group win:doh1

Finch, a little trouble of late with over the top or outside in path, but pretty much staying on plane. Any thoughts or drills for the range.

try hitting balls on the range with a headcover under your left armpit...if you are coming over the top it will be impossible to keep the headcover from falling down...this will help alleviate your over the top move

I think Casey in Dubai @28-1 is a good "investment"

Won 2 weeks in Abu Ghadai and has played well at this track in the past
