What is the best course of action when a poster attacks you?

Should you bite back, but only harder or should you ignore?

Should you even think about taking the high road and be nice to that poster?

I've had this discussion with several posters I respect and the consensus is to ignore...

What do you think?

Its important to stand up to the bullies. Keep reminding said poster to stick to the topic and not go off on some personal tangent. Posters who can't fight back via good argument on the topic, usually resort to personal insults and name calling, its the only way they know how to fight back.

The bottom line remains you don't want to be a victim. Tell the abrasive poster to go fuck him or herself and move on. The last thing you want to do is take shit from a stranger on a message board.

I actually enjoy it when a poster takes time to go out of his way to insult me. Most of the stuff said about me is either exaggerated shit or not true so it doesn't bother me..

That reminds me of what I heard a comedian once said. Why is it people get offended when someone flips them the bird while driving. It is not like they actually had to work at it. I mean their hand is already there. Now if they took the time to take their shoe off and give me the toe, then I may be hurt.

Just thought it was the same thing.

No I am not sure where I heard it. I just think of it when someone does flip me the bird and I just smile and wave. That really makes them mad.
