There are casinos in Southern Oklahoma and Shreveport, LA both a few hours by car.

Cost of living is very reasonable.

Plenty of high end restaurants in Dallas

Home of some of the prettiest strippers in the country

something tells me you aren't serious but I will play along. I have lived in Texas, Boston, NY, Conn, NC, and Fla.

Bar none Florida is the best. Chances of you being in the path of a hurricane is a longshot but it happens. Just like blizzards and tornado's.

You couldn't pay me enough to leave Florida, nor could you pay me enough to move back to Texas (any part).

if you don't mind that it is about 750 degrees in the summer and it can get pretty cold in winter - Las Vegas sounds like an ideal place for you - esp if wifey is in Rest Mgmt

the housing market has taken a dump and finding a house that won't cost as much as a few years ago won't be hard. i will say the schools pretty much SUCK there and odds are your kids will have to go to a private school - my nephew does and it helps him a lot. sis and the family live about 1 mile from Red Rock in/near Summerlin - away from the strip and live in an area pretty normal for Vegas

FL is expensive. Nice, but expensive.

I'd look at Vegas or Phoenix. Phoenix is really reasonable and you sort of have all 4 major sports teams.

The coast in NC, SC, or GA is also really nice.

cost of living in tunica and philadelphia mississippi is pretty cheap....tons of casinos in tunica, restaurant management opportunities for the better half. philadelphia MS is kind of a hole, but DIRT cheap living and casino resort is pretty nice and brings a ton of people.

Tulsa Oklahoma...

1. Weather is not so extemem in Summer or Winter as other areas.
2. Cultural attractions are about average, probably above for town the size.
3. I am not a racist, but the ratio of different races is appx:
white-90%, Indian, 5%, Black 3%, all other 2%
4. Heavy concentration of restaurants(major chains primarily)
5. Cost of living is very reasonable.
6. Crime rate is fairly low
7. Jobs typically pay fairly well(at average maybe a touch above)
8. Work ethic seems above average compared to other places I have lived
9. Reminds me more of the "Mayberry RFD" type of culture than any other of the towns above 200k
10. The women are gorgeous..but I guess that is everywhere.

My wife an I love it!

Easiest question EVER........LAS VEGAS, cost of living is cheaper than the south and you can steal a home right now, they are giving them away, even furnishing them for you.....Vegas is the place to be......But, the school system is PITIFUL, hopefully you can afford private school at some point...

I would have to agree with those that said FL.

I love living here and in the years i have lived here I have only experienced the bad hurricane season of '04.

We have some casinos and if you move to a large town like Gainsville or Tampa or even a little further south you have the restaraunts.

It depends on where you move also the cost of living. If you move close to the beaches then it is high but if you move a little more inland it isn't bad at all.

I love the weather and the beaches.

I would not live anywhere else.

speaking from experience...i live in vegas...vegas..laughlin...mesquite...any of these cities would be good if the wife is rest. management...i can get her set with interviews with a couple of the casino's out this way..and it is always fairly nice weather...hotter than hell in the summer...and we are in summer right now...103 today...fuck it is hot...and fuck those that say it's a dry heat...it's just real warm...but if you stay in the house or casino's it's real nice...wife and i just got home from one of the local casino's...+ $3,500.00 for the day...little bit of sports action ..thank you PHILLIES...and the wife's good fortune on the machines...come on out shawn...it's not that bad...:dancefool :dancefool :dancefool

the public schools i hear are the ones that are down...reason...lack of teachers..need like 900 school teachers here in vegas....i live in the northwest part of vegas..about 10 to 15 minutes from the strip...and never go there...can't stand it...once u are away from the strip it is basically another town...traffic sux at times but that's anywhere where there is 1.7 to 2 million folks trying to get around plus all the tourist...walking and driving around with their heads firmly up their respective asses....just kidding..of course, we love the tourist's...they are the folks that make a 1,000 to 10,000 dollar deposits on a fun weekend away from the family and so forth...remember "what happens in vegas stays in vegas along with most if not all the money you brought with you..."""it's a great place to live...and have fun any time one wants to have it...i work away from the strip ..have a regular job 4.5 days a week then the week-ends...take care and good luck on the decision...
