this could be a never ending argument, nobody can really step up and win championships unless its a pitcher who wins 3 games or something. I think u might have to sort by generation on this one to make it easier, and even then , it can be a never ending argument. I'm 29 and the my top 5 would be..
1. bonds
2. griffey
3. rickey hendu
4. arod
5. nolan ryan (cause he pounded ventura's head when he charged him)
ask in 5 years and it will be a whole diff group of people

i do.
although i don't especially care for the rocket, when you compare him with pitchers of his generation i feel he is more dominant than walter johnson was.
"his .663 career wining percentage is more than a hundred percentage points better than the combined winning percentage of the teams he's pitched for. He's averaged 215 innings per season, 25% more than an average pitcher (among those with at least 100 innings a year) over the past 23 years. And his 3.10 ERA is more than a full run per game lower than the league average."

plus he missed 4 or 5 years IN HIS PRIME to the wars!! this is a no-brainer!! also the best fighter pilot to every play basebal!! and he was a hall of fame fisherman!!

Discusssion over. No other player will play both positions as he did again. HE DOMINATED THE GAME LIKE NO ONE ELSE DID or will. About 10 other guys will have 500 HR's around the same time BONDS Did. DOMINATION is having more HR's than some entire teams.
Start another thread when BONDS pitches 30 consecutive scoreless innings in the WORLD SERIES (FOR BOSTON tony as well).
Bonds .299 career batting avg. RUTH .342.
He spent 4 years pitching full time with never more than 136 at bats (ADD 3 more years of HR's to his stats) an easy 100 more to boot. In his 3 years of only pitching he was 18-8, 23-12, and 24-14 lead the league in ERA 1916 as well.
CASE CLOSED.
