Ricky's game is flattered by FIBA rules.

He never got the favorable NBA whistles of the elite superstars in the league.

Ricky Rubio and Pete Maravich.

Same narrow shoulders and lack of physical presence.

Flashy passers, no defense.

Individual stars never played for true championship contenders.

Rubio 5-6 in the postseason, Maravich 10-16.

And remember, the FIBA version of Ricky Rubio is much more effective than the NBA version.

Rubio averaged 25 points per game for Spain in 40-minute games in the 2020 Olympics.

The idea of pioneering the next waves and generations is a part of every game. There's no doubt Pistol Pete was/did that very thing.

I just finished watching a 'Top 20' Pistol plays.

In today's game, Pistol Pete would be a nice piece to have, coming off the bench.

Alot of his top plays were nothing more than glorified simple passes by today's standard.

Game has changed considerably, and I get that. Impossible and unfair to compare generations.

I saw Skiles first game in the NBA (MILW), summer league, Loyola Marymount.

Definitely no Maravich but a adept passer and saw the whole court.

There's no real comparison to Pete, way ahead of his time.

I can relate to Scott Skiles.

His hairline, that is.
