Great blog JK.

Speaking of casino payouts, do you think any of them in LV will start taking bitcoin?

Sat in the Boyd Gaming suite with many of the Gonzaga faithful.

I've changed my opinion on the Zags.

They're not Final Four good.

As always, great stuff JK. Paddy Power could only be good for this town.

For what it's worth, I don't think Gonzaga deserves a downgrade based on Santa Clara game. Zags looking for W and advance to St. Mary's tomorrow. Sendek seeing them for third time and knows exactly what they run. I think they're Final 4 good but will unfortunately run into Oregon first.

Great to see East Tennessee St dancing... Forbes will be excellent at a high-major.

I don't know what the deal is but the Zags are really getting exposed late. Fearful they can be one of the top seeds to go out awful early.

Yep, hence the "ostensibly," etc.

The net impact on sports bettors nonetheless is the same either way, though, and I was trying to stay more or less on John's original topic.

Many of the supposedly casino-specific steps of which bettors are complaining reflect best practices recommendations by the gaming industry association in response to state and federal regulatory pressure.

As I say, it's a long, but educational, read if you're making large wagers in Nevada casinos these days.

Re: My Monday blog

And a key takeaway would be that their federal- and state-imposed responsibilities -- and their associated purportedly "best practices" responses -- do not kick in only once the $10,000 currency transaction report threshold is hit.

Most of the hotels want ID (make copy) if you're cashing anything north of 2k.
