Impeachment trials are all about arithmetic.
If you don't have enough votes to get a conviction, don't have a trial.
There isn't a single Democrat that will vote for conviction because they'd be committing career suicide if they did. The same was true during the Clinton trial, and both of Orange Man's.
Instead of using common sense, they'll just waste everyone's time and money.
