909 Pirates +183 (LP: Johan/Jack) This is the Cards' first home game since September 18. That means this is the first home game since Pujols hit #700. I am 100% sure they will have some massive pre-game celebration and cheer Pujols like they have always done. It is also the first home game as NL Central Champs - something I am also sure will be celebrated. I think this massive "pomp and circumstance" will see a Cards team show up in "mind" and not "body." Jack Flaherty will be the Cards SP in this game. Saturday it will be Jordan Montgomery. Sunday it will be Adam Wainwright. The Cards start the playoffs on Friday, October 7. With that in mind I don't see ANY of the 3 weekend SP going more than 5. Get 5 in - if that - and get out to get rested for the 3 game series next weekend (PROBABLY against the Phillies - maybe the Brewers). Pirates Friday SP is Johan Oviedo who was decent his last time out - albeit against the Cubs. He is also looking for some payback since he was on the Cards earlier this season. Look - if the Cards come to play they can/will kill the Pirates. But this sure looks like a major flat spot. It is hard to hit "Confirm Bet" when playing the Pirates, especially at this price, but gotta do it here.

When you think about it, Kirk could also be pissed about the War of 1812 when the redcoats burned down the White House. And then who could forget his ancestors fighting the Indians, Mexicans, Germans, Italians, Japanese, Koreans, Vietnamese, et al. He really should have a lot of grudges. LOL
