Love it.

Every penny counts.

Why should the racetracks confiscate the overage?

Long overdue.

About $7 million a year will now be returned to bettors when previously that money was split between Kentucky racetracks and Kentucky horsemen.

I'm watching the races right now from Canterbury Park.

Why?

Canterbury offers a 10% takeout on some Pick 4, Pick 5 and Pick 6 wagers.

That $2.28 place price doesn't look like much, but it represents a 40% increase in profit for that payout. A welcomed sight on a tote board that hasn't changed much in the 35 years I've been following racing.

I'm sure those crotchety tellers at the racetrack are pissed off about dealing with pennies.

At the old Hollywood Park, when dime superfecta wagering was first introduced, I overheard one teller say to another regarding change returned to horseplayers, "They (the players) even take the dimes now."
