Obviously the draft capital was much different, but does Fields feel any more like the answer at this point compared to where Trubisky was?

They have had the same offensive philosophy forever. I have no confidence in anything they do. Last night was the first bears-packers game I’ve missed in years, I may watch it today.

Try a 60 Yard Field.

it was really cool to see retired sports broadcaster Doc Emrick do an essay for NBC on a long-forgotten piece of fascinating football history. The 1932 NFL Championship Game was played indoors, on a 60-yard field, on dirt, at the old Chicago Stadium—the same dirt just used as the floor for the circus. Bears 9, Portsmouth Spartans 0 … in a game played without the Spartans’ best player, Dutch Clark. He had to leave Ohio to return to his off-season job—coaching the basketball team at Colorado College. A great view into what the game used to be.

insane but would anyone be surprised:

There has been speculation from some around the league that Pace, who is held in high regard by the McCaskeys and others inside Halas Hall, will survive. I don’t know that to be the case, but there are enough rumors and whispers out there that it cannot be dismissed. Some suggest Pace could actually be elevated into a role above the one he currently has, potentially as a president over football operations. That would put him in a position to have a hand in hiring a new GM, of course, with consultation of ownership. Others have suggested Pace could remain in his role, but report to a new team president. That’s problematic from the standpoint that the job might not be as widely appealing if a new team president is told he has to keep Pace as general manager.

if this actually happens:

pace being incompetent at his job gets moved up
pace gets to hire his successor for a job at which pace failed

the braintrust of the bears will consist of a ticket manager,an accountant and the "football guy" in the room would be a failed GM

pure lunacy

Yikes. The McCaskeys and Pace have one thing in common: both think they are the smartest in any room.

Nose tackle Eddie Goldman was put on the list Tuesday; it’s unclear if he tested positive or was a close contact of someone infected.

Neither Edwards nor Goldman is vaccinated. That means Edwards will miss facing Cook, the NFL’s third-leading rusher. Unvaccinated players must sit out 10 days if they test positive or five if they’re ruled a close contact.

Combine this with the uncertain status of defensive lineman Akiem Hicks — who’s recovering from an ankle injury and hasn’t played since Nov. 8 — and linebacker Roquan Smith’s lingering hamstring injury and the Bears might be woefully undermanned against the league’s 10th-ranked rushing attack.

In addition to Goldman, the Bears added two other players to the reserve list Tuesday: starting cornerback Artie Burns and practice squad linebacker Sam Kamara. Both are vaccinated, meaning they can return in time for Monday’s game if they are symptom-free and have two negative coronavirus tests 48 hours apart.

If Burns can’t go, the Bears likely would turn to Kindle Vildor, whose starting job was taken away after a brutal final defensive series against the Ravens last month.

They need to end the nonsense, just drop/end all covid protocols , no more testing.masks, isolation, etc, the only time players dont play is if they are too sick to play.

Problem solved, it's not that hard.

Borom entering the protocol puts additional stress on a Bears offensive line that is already running thin. Starting right tackle Germain Ifedi has been on injured reserve since October with a knee injury. As mentioned earlier, backup tackle Wilkinson is also on the reserve/COVID-19 list. On the left side of the line, Teven Jenkins was thrust into action after Jason Peters sustained an ankle injury. If Borom and Peters aren’t cleared to play before Sunday, that would leave either Lachavious Simmons or Alex Bars to play right tackle against the Vikings, barring another roster move.

Best player in the secondary likely gone:

The Bears have 14 players on the reserve/COVID-19 list after losing Johnson and Gipson, who haven't been officially ruled out yet but will likely miss Chicago's game against Minnesota on Monday night.

With Johnson and Gipson in protocols, the Bears now have five defensive backs on the reserve/COVID-19 list. As of Sunday afternoon, they had just four healthy players in their secondary ahead of Monday: Kindle Vildor, Teez Tabor, Marqui Christian and Deon Bush.

Chicago has four defensive backs on its practice squad who could be called upon to the active roster. The Bears could also potentially return players on the reserve/COVID-19 list prior to the game Monday

These backups playing better than the stiffs who were allegedly first string.

Think I’m done with the 2021 Bears. The only real difference between the Bears and the jags are the helmets.

This game shows how difficult betting on sports is. Last few days all you heard was how all these guys were out for the bears in the defensive backfield. they are bringing guys in from the practice squad to play in the game.
How about if someone offered you Cousins passing yards o/u at 100 yards on the game. How much would you bet on the over ?
87 yards passing for Cousins. How is that possible for playing the whole game.
