Griner is an olympian who won Gold for the United States not a "traitor". Kneeling is a subtle act of patriotism, protesting the injustice of police brutality, not being a "traitor". Being a traitor is something like assaulting the U.S. Capitol, breeching the building, because you are pissed that you lost an election. Trump did nothing to try to free Paul Whelan, and didn't even tweet about him once in 2018, 2019, or 2020 despite tweeting 40 times a day. Whelan was not a "patriotic U.S. Marine" but, rather, was dishonorably discharged for larceny over a decade ago. He was also apprehended in Russia with four passports and technical data on a USB stick so he clearly wasn't just a casual tourist.
