Online Gambling Forum Sites

What is the take on all the sites out there, Some are bigger than others and I'd allready consider this one the biggest. I would like to consider it a community (all the forums) with some being bigger and more influential than others, some serving differant purposes. Some offer picks, some claim watchdogs, some offer contests, some offer sports commentary, some offer poker and casino advise, and some unfortunately are schills for books. My favorite feature is great posters and I see many good ones here allready. I wont mention any forums by name trying to keep out of the dump.

That being said as it's a community I didn't like the banning of some people here at another site.

Ultimately I think this competition is great and makes sites having to better themselves all the time offer better contest etc.

I like the fact you guys are allready thinking outside the box with the las vegas advisor here, maybe some other non-sportbook sites could get here too. plenty of products out there.

Good post 5Team.

There is plenty of room for Portals such as this one and many others out there, but it is the way in which they handle business which makes a difference IMO. You need good leaders who will set a good example for others, but it is a free enterprise as well, so if you want to be an azz, then you can. I prefer a nice friendly atmosphere myself. I don't really want to judge others and certainly don't want to get in the day to day forum wars. I do not consider EOG a watchdog. We are a sports gambling information site. Within that realm, we can still do a lot of good things for posters and sports books.

Well all the familiar faces and names here will have this places rocking 24 hours a day. Hopefully I can get to know some new faces here too.

Feel free to mention other sites that you value. As long as someone isn't blatantly shilling, I don't believe these type of posts will end up in "THE DUMP."

We will align ourselves with sites such as SBR, LVA, and TOW, so long as we believe they are REALLY looking out for the gamblers...

I have already admitted to making plenty of mistakes along the way when I was with The Rx, but I have learned a lot from them and I will do whatever I can to get other gambling information web sites to raise the bar!!!

You guys deserve better!

And so do the QUALITY sports books!!!

Your best bet is to take ANY information in ANY forum with a heavy dose of salt. Bunch of different forums out there have good info and sometimes just interesting topics that help one to kill the time - I'm sure this site will deliver on that score. Sites I also like to spend time in are MajorWager and the Offshore Gamblers Digest (OGD) - Google those because I don't want to post links here to them - each has its own strengths and weaknesses. One great strength that OGD has is that you're allowed to post almost anything, but you are challenged to back up what you say. RARELY has anyone been actually banned from there, and only when they have been shown to be outright scammers as far as I know.

I consider going to multiple sites a great way to 'cross-pollinate' and get different views on the same subject.

You are going to see some mergers of sites as they cannot run on their own in future.

No one is knocking Shrink off and SBR's Site as a whole signs up the most players of any site and his ratings are un matched..

Shrinks site in its 1st day is already has the most traffic, the guy has a huge following lets face it.

Heck I have crucified this guy in the past like no other and I am here posting.

There is something about the guy... he has the intangibles and we always come back to him no matter what.

I truly believe this guy can run a gambling cult and we would do what ever he told us.

Also, you don't have to like or respect the owners to post at a place and posting is not necessarily an endorsement of said owners.

I will always have fond memories of TheRx. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that they went too "censor happy" after I left, but I do believe that their current vision and EOG'S are not the same...

I believe they are clearly headed in a different direction now, and in time, we will see who is right.

IMO, not LISTENING to posters clearly was one factors that led to the collapse of BETTORSWORLDS. I just hope that they start to pay attention to their posters and not take on sites who don't belong on QUALITY establishments such as the Prescription...

HI Jazz,

I know exactly what you mean, I also go to all the forums. I have to admit I go to OGD quite often. Uncle B is hysterical, you never know what he'll say next. Sometimes I just want a good laugh, other times I am looking for information. They all have something to offer. BUT now my home will be eog, imagine that!! I still will lurk around though.

Each site has its own strengths and weaknesses. Rx does, EOG will, and so does every other related site. The posters will congregate at the site that they feel best suits their needs; whatever that happens to be.

There will not be one site that dominates this market. Not the way things are currently anyway. This is not a knock to any of the sites, but a fact.

Some sites I really like:

OGD - funny as hell over there. Even if some of the stuff these guys come up with is a bit wackadoo, I never fail to get in a good rip-snorter each visit.

OPU - great concept and a good team that runs it. Overall nice feel to the site, too ... easy on the eyes.

The Rx - It's where I got my start gambling on sports. Met everyone I know here over there ... great memories.

SBR - solid business model. Gotta respect it.

(I confess to not having checked out TOW's forum yet ... will get to it this weekend.)

Have you checked FantasyBetsZone? Last week was FBZ 2nd year anniversary.. It would be nice if FBZ could have a good working relationship with EOG. I spoke with the general few times via e mail and seems like a great man! Shrink never had a chance to chat with you but hopefully someday we would... E-mail me Shrink/or The General if you get some free time. Thanks
