After sitting out practice, Pierre Thomas (MCL sprain) walked with a noticeable limp in the Saints' locker room Monday.
Thomas isn't recovering quickly. His latest injury -- a laceration revealed by coach Sean Payton on Monday -- isn't serious, but beat writer Mike Triplett says Thomas' chances of playing Week 1 "are looking slim." Pierre owners need to have Mike Bell on their team. The Saints face Detroit on Sunday.

Beat writer Jeff Duncan believes that Mike Bell has emerged as "the solution" for the Saints' running game.
"He provides them with the physical presence between the tackles to keep defenses honest," Duncan notes. Assuming Pierre Thomas (knee) returns, we'd take a wait and see approach to the Saints' backfield at Philadelphia. If Bell gets more carries and produces, we'll know he's safe to use going forward.
