Hell Roger Craig cant sniff it and he redefined the HB position and was
the 1st 1000/1000 and only to start at HB/ FB in the Pro Bowl with
3 SB rings

The NFL HOF criteria is almost impossible to guage, Ward seems to have enough to get there but so many others do as well and aren't in.
I think he's borderline right now...the NFL HOF seems to look past great WRs time and time again...I think it will be close.

No way Ward gets in if Cris Carter doesn't get in. He's know a "stats" guy and that's going to hurt him in the end, since the HOF is usually about stats.

Stat guys mean far less in the NFL than in other sports because the game changes very quickly. Hines Ward was never a 1st team All-Pro. Only named to four Pro-Bowls also, as voted on by his peers.
For the same reasons, that's why I feel Art Monk shouldn't have made it either.

except all of the rules changes in the nfl have benefited the wr position...
corners can no longer lay a finger on a guy...

He is one player you can not judge on stats alone. He blocks and has no fear over the middle. My kind of player.

Stats are not what a player like Hines Ward can be judged on. His overall play at his position is HOF worthy. He is in on every play, gives up his body on every play. He has no quit in him, and he;s a team leader and motivator. He is the total package at WR.
And one notable stat: He'll have two Super Bowl rings come Monday.
