Would you ever date a cop?

I met a beautiful woman from a mutual friend tonight. And she wants to go out with me. Now here's the problem: She is a cop and doesn't know how I make a living. Can you imagine the way this relationship will go down? No way I can go out with her...this is a first in sports forum history. If someone can give me advice on how I can do this, I would appreciate it.

I met this Puerto Rican Anne Arundel County Cop on Match last fall...she would IM me from her police cruiser ALL the time...she'd IM me for hours at a time and then go on a call. tax dollars well spent I guess.

I couldn't get past the fact she was a cop...just felt weird, the whole female cop power trip thing...ummm no thanks!

I would date one possibly if I wasn't one. Having been one for almost 17 years though I want someone who isn't. I know too much about them.

I know a ton of cops who gamble, play poker, etc... I would just go out with her and see how things turn out. Just remember, if you get lucky that first date you better do a gob job because she has 50k volts waiting for you if you don't perform well.

texan- How can I start a relationship off on the wrong foot? What a way to do this. She is beautiful and I am the one who is a moron. I wish I had a nice job with a respectable living. This is the price to pay for the choices we make.

Well, if in fact you two hit it off it might look bad if you're not up front. However, I would go for it and see how things work out first. I'm not sure what to say other than to go for it and see how things turn out.

I even took a cop to the eog bash in The Bahamas. I didn't tell anyone she was a cop though.

Stop being such a drama queen.

I have been a pro gambler since 2001 and I told one of Chicago finest officers that was my job. And her family were all cops and her father died on the job. It was not a problem at all.

If she asks what you do just tell her you are an investor. Then on one of the dates bring up that you are thinking about getting into betting on sports as another type of investment and see what the reaction is. :D

I personally don't know of any cops who would care that you gamble. Now, if you're like Al Capone or something then that's different.

Well, I don't know your level of gambling or exactly what you do so I can't say. I mean, wagering on the internet alone isn't illegal, correct?

Gambling in Texas is illegal, anyway you slice it. Whether it be off shore or with a local. No way around it.

Local, yes. Online, I don't believe so. There is no federal law on the books that states gambling online is illegal. The U.S. Attorney even admitted in 2007 that there is nothing illegal about placing wagers online.

Now, several states have enacted laws regarding online gambling, but Texas hasn't done so. The online gambling bill was aimed at funding sites, not actually playing on them.

Again, there is no federal law that says it is illegal to place a wager over the internet.
