The Giants made trade to get Eli because they thought he might be the QB they need to win a Super Bowl. Eli did just that and now the Giants want to pay him for that and the fact that he might win them some more Super Bowls.

It's a good thing the Giants don't listen to a group of internet posters who think they are smarter than them and still think Eli isn't any good.

Eli is becoming a great NFL quarterback and to those who don't think so you should really admit you don't know a thing.

These people probably still think McNabb is a better QB. McNabb has had 3 or 4 really good chances to get the Eagles a Super Bowl win, and he alone made sure that was never going to happen.

Mean while Eli took his only chance so far at winning a Super Bowl and not only won 1 he drove his team down the field in the 4th quarter and won the Super Bowl. But that makes him no good to some of you posters.

Good stuff

too much comedy, high. eli throws 3 balls up for grabs on the final drive and hes clutch. he was one of the worst qbs for 17 weeks, he had a nice playoff run where he played within himself, and then a sb where he didnt lose the game...but he got a tiny bit lucky on more than one occassion. eli is having a nice start to his season. he is a fine qb

If the Giants are willing to tie up that much of their salary cap in one player, more power to them.

Eli is a better athlete than his brother and he is starting to become a very good qb... he will win another superbowl or 2 in his career

eli better than peyton; eli was better in college and will show he is better in pros if he can get as good a supporting cast which he did not have at ole miss.

If he is a free agent tomorrow, how many teams could he walk in and start for? I know the NFL FA system is messed up, but he is worth more than two 1st rounders the signing team would gladly give up. League revenues are also far greater than when Peyton signed his big deal. Even though the overall dollars are greater for Eli, the net worth of the deal is still in favor of Peyton.

I'm not buying this. Peyton was on a better team, but was also a better qb.

'Current market value' is the reason, had Peyton signed now he'd still get more money.
