Well since Cincy thinks that I was crying in the other thread, let me cry in this thread. First of all, the guy wins the contest EITHER way. Why he is still crying about it is beyond me.


1. A muffed punt has never been a turnover
2. In a muffed punt, the receiving team never has possession, thus it cannot be a turnover.
3. A muffed punt cannot be advanced by the receiving team.


A muffed punt is basically the same as an onside kick. An onside kick that is recovered is NOT a turnover. Another example of a muffed punt would be where the punt hits a member of the receiving team in the back. That is not a fumble either, but the punting team can recover the ball.


Cincy keeps saying that I dont know shit about this. All I was doing was giving the exact ruling that EVERY sportsbook uses as well. I have had 2 bets in the past 10 years that were graded exactly this way. Here is the official play-by-play at nfl.com

I didnt crap it up, all I did was post the official ruling. Then the other dumbass has to argue about it even though he WON EITHER WAY.


But a muffed punt IS NOT a turnover.

An onside kick that is retrieved is not a turnover either

a muffed punt is not a turnover? maybe not by sportsbook terminology, but it is a turnover

To be a turnover Journeyman, one has to have possession.


With a muffed punt, the receiver never had possession. Now if he catches the ball AND MAKES A FUMBLE MOVE, then it is a fumble and not a muffed punt.



Sorry to make a thread about this, but Cincy was acting like an asshole and pissing me off. The little fucker won the contest either way and he acts like that
