LineTracker-The New Mercedes For Line Services?
July 31, 2007
Some of the biggest and best online sports books have begun making a mass exodus from 'Don Best' to 'Linetracker.'
Within the last 24 hours, CRIS & GRANDE no longer have their lines featured on the Don Best Premium feed and others are expected to leave as well.
An insider stated, "I expect THE GREEK and CATALINA to follow very shortly."
When we spoke with someone in upper management from Grande, he stated:
"We were having constant problems transmitting our live lines to Don Best. We were also tired of seeing wrong scores and their injury reports were terrible."
Perhaps the most influential person in all of this was Mickey from BetCris who was very forthright and honest when interviewed. Someone had to spearhead a change that many gamblers had been begging for during the past couple of years. Ever since both Dana and Rick left Don Best, there has been a spiraling downward effect for this giant line service.
Mickey from BetCris stated:
"We have been weighing our options for at least a year now. We were either going to leave Don Best and go with a competitor or basically partner up with someone we could trust. And when it comes to running a line service, Jim Feist, who is the main man behind Linetracker, has an impeccable reputation."
"Gamblers want a reliable and honest line service. We now have that available in Linetracker. Instead of holding back line moves and injury reports like some services have been accused of, Linetracker will release the information at the same time to everyone who subscribes with them."
When speaking with Mark from Linetracker, he had the following to say:
"Jim Feist was doing this before Don Best ever got involved, so basically Linetracker is finally getting back what once was originally ours."
"I also believe many quality well respected sports books such as CRIS, GRANDE, THE GREEK, CATALINA, CASCADE, PINNACLE and BETMANIA will have their LIVE LINES available for Linetracker customers very shortly."
Currently, when I downloaded Linetracker today, I saw live lines from Cris, The Greek, VIP, Jazz, Gameday, SBG Global, Heritage, Betonline, SOS and Carib just to name a few.
When I telephoned Don Best for an interview, no one was available. However, their General Manager, Gary Pasquale answered an email I sent him inquiring why CRIS and GRANDE had left.
Gary writes:
"To our understanding, they have entered into a revenue-sharing arrangement with a competing odds service owned by a company based in Vancouver, Canada. (Jim Feist/LineTracker). Coupled with our “corporate” structure we are unable to provide support through advertising, links, referrals and this may have been part of the discussion as well."
When I spoke with Mike from a very reputable, growing, and competing line service, namely GJ Update, he stated:
"Our phone hasn't stopped ringing since this all happened. Supposedly some of the books are trying to make exclusive deals with Linetracker, but many people I have spoken to say they cant stand looking at Linetracker. Don Best tried exclusives long ago and it didn't work with them, why will it work with Linetracker?"
The answer is that it will likely work this time around because the product appears to be superior to what Don Best was charging more for.
And maybe more importantly, because of the efforts of Mickey from BetCris, three of the best sports books in the industry, namely, CRIS, GRANDE & THE GREEK have teamed up to make this happen.
To conclude, I believe that gamblers will be extremely pleased when trying this new line service out.
