Dear Youbet Members,

For the fourth consecutive day, bettors have failed to pick all six winners in the Pick 6 at Hollywood Park, generating a track record carryover of $3,274,505.48 going into Monday's special eight-race program. Counting the money expected to be wagered on Monday's Pick 6, the pool total could threaten to eclipse the North American record of $7,303,848 set on March 3, 2004 at Santa Anita.

Don't miss your chance to be part of history Monday, July 2, when the Pick 6 gets underway with the running of the third race at Hollywood Park.

First post at Hollywood is 1:20 PM, Pacific Time. The Pick 6 will be held over races 3-8. Post time for race 3 is approximately 2:23 PM, Pacific.

Best of luck from your friends at Youbet.com.

Responsible gaming? It's funny because the reason these Pick 6 Carryovers get so high to begin with is because of ir-responsible gaming! But a carryover like that has to be worth a shot for anyone. Even with taxes taken out and whatever, it's so much free money to be sitting there for the taking.

13 winners for $576k each; 5/6 paid $2,240. Had the 65/1 longshot, in a 14 horse field, won the last race there would've been a $7.4M carryover.

Exactly $677,376; no one did it because there was actually a chance for a $7.5M carryover going into the last race.

:LMAO:LMAO:LMAO:LMAO:LMAO

July 5, 2007 -- Believe it or not: Of 13 winning tickets, each worth 576G, bet on Hollywood Park's record $10,870,852 pick 6 last Monday, two belonged to same bettor, who placed his pick 6 wagers - one totaling $2, the other $4! - at Los Alamitos, 17 seconds apart, according to Hollypark. He collected $1,152,128, not counting $2,240 consolation. Another bettor at Hollywood also had pick 6 twice on tickets totaling $960 and $768. One winning ticket was sold at a NY OTB site.

How would the pick 6 combination come out twice for one bettor? Did horses get scratched causing the post-time favorite to be used more than once?

Can't picture someone betting more than $2 on the exact same combination of horses unless they were making the bet for a friend and they wanted the same combination. Or unless it's a big scam like we had in the Breeders Cup a few years ago.

I would not rule out a scandalous deal at all. Not that I want to debate that, but I discussed this with a friend the day this was posted. You just never know, but I will give benefit of doubt since I DON'T know for sure.

Six-buck bet wins over $1 million

By STEVE ANDERSEN
INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Someone is walking around Southern California with two winning pick six tickets that cost a combined $6 and are worth a pre-tax bonanza of $1,154,368.
The tickets were purchased at Los Alamitos and were two of the 13 winning tickets from Monday's pick six at Hollywood Park that were worth $576,064 each. The Los Alamitos tickets were purchased for $2 and $4 within 17 seconds of each other, according to a Los Alamitos official. In addition to the grand prize, one of the tickets was worth an additional $2,240, one of 807 consolation tickets that had five of the six winners.
Several betting records fell on Monday on a card with a record four-day carryover of $3,274,505 in the pick six pool. Bettors added a record $7,596,347 to the pool on Monday, creating an overall pool of $10,870,852, a North American record.
The 13 winning tickets were purchased for amounts ranging from $2 to $14,400, and eight of the winning tickets were purchased in California, according to a statement released by Hollywood Park.
The Los Alamitos bettor placed the wagers with a teller three hours before the pick six started and bought three $2 tickets and one $4 ticket, a Los Alamitos official said.
As of Wednesday morning, the two Los Alamitos tickets had not been cashed.
Of the other six tickets purchased in California, two were bought at Hollywood Park for $960 and $768 and one was purchased at Golden Gate Fields ($14,400), Cal-Expo in Sacramento ($1,920), Santa Anita Park ($432), and the simulcast venue in Victorville ($24).
The Hollywood Park tickets were purchased by the same person, according to track officials.
Five of the tickets were purchased at locations outside of California - two through separate Oregon betting hubs and one each at Calder, a New York state offtrack betting site, and a Maryland betting hub. The cost of those winning tickets was not available.
