My brother did a stint in Guam when he was in the guard - said it was commonplace to see a bunch of them crawing up the barracks walls.

Recluse Spider Populations
The darkly shaded area of the map shows the distribution of the brown recluse spider (modified from the distribution map of Gertsch and Ennik, 1983). Additional limited populations may be found around the margins of the shaded area. The other 10 species of native recluse spiders are found in the striped area in the southwestern U.S.

Cannon, me too. My Doctor told me he has never seen anyone who has been bitten by Brown Recluses more than once. Welcome to our exclusive club.
For those of you who are not members of the club you don't want to join. One tell of these little fiends is that their cobwebs resemble cotton candy. They love lurking around old wood. If you even suspect you have them, break out the old DDT, nuke them, flamethrowers, 44 Magnum, whatever. How a child or a frail person could survive a bite from one of these little Casino Managers amazes me.

I don't mind at all, any question from you is welcome as long as it doesn't include my weight or age.
To make a long story short, I enjoy restoring antiques or wooden stuff of any rarity or aesthetic value. Because of this I tend to hoard old wood furniture and stuff to excess. Besides, antique stuff is a real good place to store excess, unwanted cash, if you know what I mean.
Although both bites happened 200 miles apart, the presence of lots of antique wooden plunder was the common factor.
I can't be positive that this is what happened because you don't feel the original bite. Basically you just get sicker and sicker, a lot like the flu, until you go to the Doctor or you rot and die.
This is not to say that piles of wooden treasure are bad, but vacuuming this kind of stuff is a real good idea along with healthy doses of Raid or whatever.

uhh.... What I said about storing your excess booty applies only to stuff that you get your hands on cheap. Ghey antique shops are not a good place to buy stuff like this.

I got mine when I went to a friends construction site inside an old building they were tearing out old wood and got a nasty bite on the back of the neck. Another time just about the same thing were were removing some old wood to throw away and one got me on the leg. Had these nasty red streaks starting to go up my leg in about 3-4 days. Got to the docor and he said if I had waited it was going to get nasty.
