The reason PAP is in the rotation in 2007 is because the doctors would prefer that he only pitch every 4 or 5 days and have plenty of time to warm-up.
The truth is he had been groomed as a starter since he arrived in Boston and they feel he can be a top of the rotation guy with similarities to Roger Clemens. He has 4 pitches and they would rather see him in 200+ inning rather than 60/70.
That being said if the closer position becomes a problem this year he can close!!

I think that it was a smoke screen to put him back in the rotation!! To keep the fans from starting a coup!!
He basically had a tried arm last year as some young guys do late in the season, so they shut him down!!

Sounds good, Madman! If we pitch, we win, it's that simple. Middle relief remains the biggest issue coming out of the spring. Everything else is solid unless a couple of starters go down. Thanks for the update.:cheers

Matsui's was far from a bomb, that was a line drive that barely cleared the fence...Igawa will be lucky to be in the rotation come the end of the season, he is horrible

It was a bomb that left the park in no time. He turned on a high 97 MPH fastball. Says alot about his wrist.

I'm hoping his wrist is fine, he's been rehabbing it for the past 8-10 months by probaby the best doctors in the world..If Matsui's was a bomb, what do you call Paulie's 2nd blast yesterday? Moon shot? That landed across the parking lot :+excited-

not a yankee hater at all, but i see no way, that this pitching staff wins 110+

I'm a Yankee fan, but no way with the starting pitching they run out there that they can win even 100 games. Could be another dogfight w/ Boston, and that's what most people want anyway.
